Think I saw a thread about some really good BBQ shrimp in BR and I can't recall where.
Anyone? TIA

My kitchen, in my opinion.

I might have heard that Le Creole has good BBQ shrimp, but I also could be totally making that up.. as I've never been. I do see it on the menu right now, though.

Are the ones at Chimes East worth ordering? I'm always tempted to get them, but never have.

Like the BBQ Shrimp Poboy? Ya know, I've seen people rave about it, but I remember getting it once and it is just fried shrimp. If there is a sauce on it, it is LIGHTLY on it.

he one at chimes east serves it over a fried Tasso grit cake, but you can ask to get it over rice as well

My idea of bbq shrimp would be to have just shrimp in the sauce, and have french bread for sopping up the juice. They can keep the grit cake, and I definitely wouldn't want it over rice.

I agree. I'll put leftover peeled bbq shrimp over grits on occasion, but initially, that's not how I want them and not in a restaurant.

Ruth's Chris used to serve about 6 beautiful shrimp, albeit peeled, with French bread slices as an app. I ordered a few years ago and they brought this long plate with the lovely shrimp and sauce over what seemed like a few pounds of mashed potatoes. I was so disappointed.

I've ordered that too.. Not knowing they came over mashed potatoes.

I prefer them alone too, but could even handle grits more than potatoes. You know how I am about that

the ones at Chimes

WORST I have ever eaten. Tasted like a stick of butter with a pound or two of pepper in it and nothing else. Not even close to being edible, not unlike most of their menu.

I'll take grits over mashed potatoes for almost any dish and maybe for any dish. I can't recall the last time I even had one bite of mashed potatoes. Thank goodness the garlic mashed potato stage finally faded out. I was having mashed potato nightmares.
