Drawing us the 9th seed. I'm shocked as anybody by the seed number but I'm not complaining. We're in good position to make a tourney run and a possible sweet 16 appearance. I think we can run up and down the court with anyone if this team can stay motivated.

I honestly don't think that the 8/9 seed means what you think it means. When the committee puts a team there, they place them against a 1 seed in the second round. I'd rather be a 10-12 seed and pull one upset in the first round and have an easier second round game. The path to the Sweet Sixteen would have been much easier for LSU had we been a LOWER seed.

I always feel like when the committee puts a team at 8/9, they really don't want you in the second weekend.

The NCAA selection committee hates LSU.

I don't think that's true.

I think committee did a good job of not just weighing one factor like Lunardi does. The road wins out of conference and in conference is what got LSU the 9 seed, it wasn't RPI or SOS or bad losses. I said it a long time ago, A&M's resume was terrible, outside of two LSU wins they had nothing else to rely on when Lunardi had A&m way ahead of LSu. A&M wasn't close to being in the tourney, I don't think a win against Auburn would have got them in. SEC finally got some respect and whether Alleva played into that, I don't know. Good thing is the SEC big 12 challenge is good for the schedule

I do...how many times has a 8/9 upset the 1 seed? Really not that good of a draw IMO. But there's no gimmies at this point, so go earn it boys! No doubt they can hang if they show up.

In this bracket we're better at 9 than 10. If we were 10 we'd be playing Virginia in the second round rather than Nova. They're both really tough but I think we match up worse versus Virginia.

I agree. This is the one regional that I don't think it matters if you're 7 through 10. UVA has been a No. 1 seed all season. Just because they lost in the ACC tourney, now they're a 2 seed. Their 3 losses are better than Duke's 4 losses. I think UVA and Nova are pretty equal.

You're right. LSU could never give a 1 seed a close game.

Well they had Kentucky as an 8 and UConn as a 7 last year and look how that turned out.

This team can quite literally beat any team in the country when healthy.

This team can also lose to any team in the country, even if fully healthy.

It's infuriating, but interesting at the very least.

If we win one game, we will have matched expectations for the year. I think our seeding is at or above expectations.
