Take it for what it's worth:

My bro-in-law's (shoulder) surgeon is allegedly good friends with one of the team doctors. He said the word was Jimmy "HAD TO GO" and Sean Payton "had no real choice". Graham allegedly went all diva this past season, "cursing out teammates, throwing shite", and confrontational "chest bumping for fights".

You're getting 4th hand information here, but when I heard this tonight at dinner, if true, makes me feel a little better about the loss.

But I will say, outside of witnessing some on-the-field Da U-style taunting classlessness seemingly after every huge gain, I've only heard positive things about Graham off the field.

Just relaying it to you guys, along with a grain of salt.

I'll buy that to a certain extent. But regardless as long as we don't get a bust with that pick then we came out of this trade better in the end.

Thanks for the info. Never know if it's true of course but it could be. Usually similar stories will come out after if this is at least somewhat true. We'll see.

I will say it wouldn't surprise me either way. The Saints soured on him for at least one of the reasons we're speculating on...prima donna, locker room, overpaid or whatever.

Heard the exact same thing from a close friend of mine who said Jimmy was still mad about not getting WR money. Jimmy also claimed he was basically forced to sign a deal with the saints last offseason.

Just playing devils advocate here, but the story we heard about the trade was that Jimmy wasn't offered until Seattle specifically asked if he was off the table, and Loomis said no. If he HAD TO GO, then wouldn't his name have been the first name out of Loomis' mouth? What we heard is that they offered two other guys before they got to Jimmy.

You may be right, just saying this story runs kinda counter to what we heard about how the trade went down.

Well we called looking to get Unger and it's pretty clear one of the receivers offered was Stills as we were definitely looking to dump him.

But that doesn't mean we wouldn't have eventually traded Graham to another team. It was just the first move we made. Getting a 1st plus the player they wanted was a steal. Adding in the 4th made it a little more even.

And this could very well be where the 4th hand info possibly comes into play.

My bro-in-law's use of those words could just be his own emphatic interpretation of what he heard and how my bro-in-law perceived how SP had to handle the situation.

But those were the words told to me tonite.

So we're hearing this from you who heard it from your BIL, who heard it from his surgeon, who heard it from another doctor, who probably heard it from someone in the locker room.

This is telephone.

Lol. It very well could be 5th hand info. I just assumed the team doctor might've actually witnessed some of the alleged events b/c there is that possibility.

But if you were a good horse trader, you wouldn't show your hand too early. Jimmy G would not have been offered up first, they would have been a bit suspicious.

Loomis made it happen.

Oh shite, you reminded me of something else.

My BIL said something to the effect that they tried to keep the diva/combativeness element hush-hush/on-the-down-low so he could be traded w/o incident. So it meshes with your point.

However, I can't remember my BIL's exact words but that was the gist of it. So if you want to discard this part (or all of it), feel free.

I heard the same early last season. Also heard that Junior is a leader of the knucklehead faction and some guys, including Pierre, were extremely pissed that they went to bat for Graham and then him and Jr. big-timed everyone once they got paid.

Where there's smoke...

He was just angry from losing so much. I would have burned down the locker room by the 5th game

Before tonite, I never heard a bad word about Jimmy. Now I'm starting to believe there might be a grain of truth somewhere in all this.

It was a weird season. I hadn't heard the dysfunction and rumors flying as much since Haslett was impregnating cheerleaders and Joe Johnson was boning Roaf's stripper wife.

It's crazy how the locker room fell apart right before our eyes. Payton/Loomis lost their way. They overlooked character and paid talent and it bit them in the arse.

No denying Graham and Jr. can play. But with big money and no leaders like Harper/Jenkins/Smith/Vilma to law down the lay, the team went to shite.

Stills must have been part of the idiot crew. I'm thinking Vaccaro is too. He's on notice.

So is Cam Jordan, but I'm not sure exactly what his situation is. Just rumors.

Very strange season and Payton is getting things in order.

Really shouldn't be that surprising considering the leaders we've lost. I think Lofton tried but just didn't have the respect of the team.

Interesting comments about Browner being an "enforcer." Too many clues out there. Lewis is obviously a great player but way too emotional and not level-headed enough to be a great leader.

We need a steadying presence to teach Jordan/Vaccaro/Hicks/Jenkins how to be pros.

That's exactly why I think Watson stays this year despite not being terribly productive.

There were interesting comments coming from Brees and Streif all season but people didn't pay attention because they were so focused on the disappointment on the field.

I was never a huge Will Smith fan. I thought he was fat and overpaid. However, I heard a story about him knocking Victor Riley straight the frick out after Riley started riding his arse and bullying people. I'll always respect Smith for that. Riley was a piece of shite.

I don't post on here much. But a good friend of mine is an equipment manager on the team. He told me the exact same thing at the beginning of the season.

Not sure why or what happened though.
