I really want this kid with that 2nd 3rd round pick.....

Highlight Reel
(Ignore the really shitty music)

Deontay Greenberry, WR, Houston
Height: 6-3 Weight: 200
Projected 40 Time: 4.55
Projected Round (2015): 3-5

2/14/15: Greenberry totaled 72 receptions for 841 yards and six touchdowns in 2014. He has good size, but if he has the speed to separate from NFL-caliber cornerbacks isn't clear. Greenberry should have returned for his senior year, but he entered the 2015 NFL Draft. His stock could be hurt by not receiving a Combine invite.

8/27/14: Greenberry was the first Scout.com "five star" recruit to sign with Houston. He made an immediate impact as a freshman in 2012 with 47 receptions for 569 yards and three touchdowns. Greenberry upped his game as a sophomore with 82 receptions for 1,202 yards and 11 touchdowns.

The junior has size to go with speed. It wouldn't be surprising if Greenberry has massive production in 2014.

It's kind of a weird situation with our draft picks. I think I would rate LB and G as bigger needs than WR (maybe LB #1, G and WR tied for 2).

I am not on the team that thinks a pass rusher is a dire need. I think CJ will have a bounce back year. Our LB need is in the middle. We need a do-it-all guy who is exceptional in coverage. There isn't an instant plug-and-play guy at ILB in this draft. There are a few intruiging guys but they will all or most be available me at the 31st pick. This leaves us to address WR or G with our first. Most people have us taking a guard.

I don't think this is something we will do. Our FO does not draft offensive linemen high. They are obviously confident in our ability to hit on draft picks late at that position. Because of this, it really only leaves us one option... WR. It seems likely to me that Davante Parker will make it to us, and he will be our pick. It fills a need, and he fits the actual role we need as well (he is 6'3).

Interesting! Don't know much about the kid, but I can see the skills. Would be a good value pick at rounds 3-5. But I'd like to see them take Kevin White in the first round if still there which I doubt he is after his combine. This kid would immediately impact the offense.

It's looking ok.

I think we need to sign a FA and draft one in the first round, but if we do that I think we will be ok

I wouldn't be so certain about that. We have to have a legit guard or we're screwed...and the coaches know that. Scherff/Collins are about as close to drafting a safe player as it gets. It's why they coveted Brandin Cooks so much...they saw a tiny chance in him busting.

At 31 sure looks like ILB'er.
At 13 it would have to be one hell of a guard for the Saints to take one there I think.

So WR stud or OLB stud...which is needed more?

I'll go OLB. WR in second or third as CSP said this is a deep draft for WR's.

This. We need a sure thing. Lelito ain't it.

Also wouldn't surprised if our 3rd pick is LB. There isn't anyone i would draft at LB in the first round and they won't all be gone by 44. We could get Anthony or McKinney there.

Most like Perryman and Kendricks over both

I think 31 is WR

If we don't take Kendricks at 31...he won't make it to 44. I assume the others would. And I think Perryman has pass coverage issues? Doesn't he?

Sammy Coates or Devin Smith would be great. Not sure if they both last to the 3rd, prob have to move back in the 2nd. Why has no one mentioned Max Williams TE?

If we can stay healthy and we get the kind of play a Max Unger and whatever other additions to our OL we expect, Spiller is going to be DEADLY on those wheel routes and screens.

There's no way possible that cooper will be available at 13, right?

I assume that someone will take him before 13. Personally, I'd rather White than Cooper.

I'm still surprised that we traded Stills. I trust that those in the organization much smarter than me have a plan, but I can't wait to see it. He just seemed to me like a young, much needed part of the puzzle that we need right now. He wasn't spectacular, but efficient with what seemed like plenty of upside. Guess we'll wait and see.

I can't believe we haven't given Crabtree a call yet. He would be fantastic in this offense.
FWIW, Crabtree runs slower than Colston and there is a reason he has been cut and has no interest. I would be okay with a signing if he could be a big possession receiver.

There are still holes at WR and TE and who knows how the Saints will address that in the draft. Was it in 2006 when the Saints had glaring holes on defense and added key starters late in the offseason like Hollis Thomas, Mark Simoneau and Scott Fujita?

Regardless who the several new guys are that come in it will take some time to brew chemistry between Drew and them

I agree, but Payton is trying to get good locker room guys. He may not be around at 31 anyway. I like Devante Parker from Louisville, but we need a LB or G at 13 and he won't be around at 31. Will need to come up with a gem in later rounds.
