What are some good areas? Preferably the areas east of Dallas.
I'm sure there are some authentic Mexican but what about Indian cuisine in particular

In thd Bishop Arts District is a place called Lockhart Smokehouse. Best Brisket I've ever had. They also have blue cheese cole slaw that's really good.

How far east are we talking about? East side of downtown or suburbs 30 miles out?

This. I live in East Dallas but east of dallas is mesquite and then Rockwall on the other side of the Lake Ray Wiley Hubbard.

assuming you're speaking of east Dallas and not a burb, there a tons of great options in Deep Ellum, Lakewood/white rock and Greenville avenue

Best Indian is up in Richardson.
Indo Pak Supermarket has a cafe that serves great food.
India Palace is the goto place for most people that want Indian.
In Dallas
Indian Chaat Cafeis in north dallas and really good.
Kalachandji'sis in the Hare Krishna Temple is East Dallas. Good buffet style Indian and vegetarian.
Roti'sis pretty good. Its convenient to us so we eat there when we want Indian.
Indo Pak Supermarket has a cafe that serves great food.
