He was a columnist who annoyed Dan Snyder so he got him a job at NFL network where he all of a sudden passed himself off as an insider.

I encourage you to find one story his "sources" we're accurate on that he reported first. Go ahead.

Why do you care?

Such a strange thing to get worked up over.

I'm not. I'm really amazed and curious how he still gets pushed as one of the insiders and I'm absolutely positive he makes shite up.

His career is an enigma...because I don't know how he has one.

Another example, LaCanfora was the one national media guy that acted like Gruden was a lock to Tennessee in 2012.

He lost all credibility to me after he wrote an article naming Sean Payton and John Harbaugh as coaching candidates at Michigan while also stating that Jim Harbaugh was likely to stay in the NFL. At that point, it was pretty obvious he was just a tool for agents to leak stories as a way to enhance leverage in future negotiations for their clients.

this explains the OP's question.

He gets paid by agents, and works for minimum wage from the network.

Yeah, he even went as far as mentioning that Gruden was making calls all over the NFL to see what former assistants would be interested in joining him at Tennessee.

There was some smoke from Tennessee writers that Gruden was the #1 candidate but the whole thing really blew up when LaCanfora started staying all this stuff in detail and acting like it was going to happen. I fell for it like the majority of Tennessee fans. I had never heard of him before but figured he was some legit NFL insider so that was enough to convince us.

That coaching search was complete mayhem for a few days and really fricked it up for whoever was going to take the Tennessee job because the fanbase thought they had Gruden in the bag.
