I'll be in BR for lunch & the baseball game tomorrow & was looking for a place to get a good/gourmet style grilled cheese sandwich, any "must go" places? I heard Chelsea's was pretty good. TIA

This sounds like something my 5 year old would say.

Second Chelsea's, although the tomato basil soup is too spicy for my liking.

Several of my family members are quite fond of the grilled cheese at Burgersmith (I go for the grilled chicken).

Chelseas is a good suggestion. You can request a chicken breast on it as well. The soup is just ok though, IMO. I think someone (LL?) mentioned mixing it with another soup.

Chelsea's has a great grilled cheese. You can add chicken, bacon, pesto, etc to it.

Apparently I'm the only one who loves their tomato basil soup that comes with it. Love the spicy kick it has.

then I saw you can add chcken, pesto, bacon etc.... and it sounds pretty good.

then I thought, well that is not a grilled cheese. it is a build your own sandwich

I love that soup with the grilled cheese or fried calamari to dip in it. Our lunch crew hits the soup and cheese combo often on cold days. Had it with the Mojo chicken added a couple of times as suggested by HC and LSUBoo, and that kicks it up to another level.

The pork belly grilled cheese at Pelican House is wonderful.

After hearing all the praise, I finally tried a Chelsea's grilled cheese with bacon. I was disappointed - not that much flavor. Maybe it's the types of cheeses they use, maybe the bread, maybe I didn't add enough extras.

They are good there, as well as the egg sandwich.

Looks like it's gonna be Chelsea's. I'd love to try it with the bacon but my Catholic school guilt won't let me.

It is just a grilled cheese with bread, cheese and bacon. You can't expect an assortment of amazing flavors.

I like the bread they serve it on, I think it makes the sandwich.

Chelsea's is amazing but I also think the tomato basil soup is too spicy, it is almost like a marinara. I suggest adding bacon to your grilled cheese. Delicious! You can also add the chicken fried chicken but I think that is overboard.

Get it half and half... Mixed with the cream of artichoke soup. Makes it taste more like la Madeleine
