Well got my RARR back from the factory last week and finally got out to the range today.
They replaced the bolt as the one that came with the gun bit the dust twelve shots in. Extractor came unglued leading to a frozen bolt condition.

Anyway the rifle performed flawlessly. For a short barrel gun (16") it was more than accurate enough for most missions.Shot both subsonic and supersonic through it with nary a blip of trouble.

They evidently have modified the original mags as well since, like many, I was having issues with the original mag that the gun came with. As a symbolic gesture of good will they also threw in an additional mag for my troubles, so props to Ruger for making things right.

After the bolt fix I can now give this rifle my official seal of approval.

Now to get a suppressor for it and start back on my hog eradication project.

I like this idea, should be super quiet.

AAC Cyclone or SDN-6

This rifle will actually be a dedicated hog/rainy day deer gun (I bowhunt 99.8% of the time) so I'm leaning towards the Cyclone and getting the 5.56 variant of the SDN-6 for interchanging between AR's.

Check the Silencerco omega and saker as well.

What happened originally? Was it a hot round or it just broke?

Just broke.
Extractor must have come apart because bolt froze after shot. Got the bolt to slide back about 1/2", but that was it...nothing I tried would get it any farther back. Not to mention it hadn't grabbed the spent round from previous shot.

FWIW I was shooting Remington 220 gr. subsonics straight out of the box, the same rounds I shot today that performed flawlessly.

One nice thing is using the Nikon 300 BLKT scope I have is that when sighted for 100 yds with the supersonics, the gun is dead on at 50 using the subsonics with the same crosshair.
FWIW, 100 yd hold for subs was the first circle down (not first hash, but first circle) on the elevation (verticle) crosshair.
(In case that helps any of you wanting to get that same scope on a 16"Blkt but wanting to save $$ on those expensive blackout rounds)

CDNN sports had some of the Remington subsonic today for $19.90 a box. I ordered a case. I haven't seen many of them available lately.

I'm working on an SBR and a YHM suppressor.

Check out Dead Air armament. Their Sandman L and Sandman S are supposed to be reasonably priced and they are said to perform extremely well.

AUT, Glad you got the gun back from Ruger so quickly and are pleased.

What sized groups are you getting at 100 yds? Are you using open sights, scope or something else?

Dead air is one of the former owners of silencerco, good stuff.

Silencerco got to big and he got out, his new mounts are badass.

Wasn't using a sled or anything, just shooting off a rolled up jacket but I would guess that save for the 2-3 shots I know I pulled, easily 1 1/2"- 2" groups. Haven't adjusted the trigger down yet but it's pretty good from the factory. Probably 4-41/2 lbs.
Was using Nikons 300 BLKT scope which is a 2-7X. And factory Remington 220 gr.
Not to mention the moron to my left shooting a .308 AR that kept spitting hot casings all over me while I was trying to shoot. 12 other open benches and this dickhead just HAD to take the one to my immediate left!!!
Sometimes I hate people.

Anyhow I'm sure with handloads the gun is more capable than I am with my aging eyes.

That's great.

That's a really good trigger for the Mini 14. I wouldn't mess w/ it. And of course, if you alter the trigger and ever have to return it back to Ruger, they'll replace the modified trigger w/ a factory specs trigger.
