Sanford is confirmed to be making vet minimum($745k with the max allowed bonus for vet minimum of 80k), while Bunkley saves us $2.95 by cutting his base to $1.25 but they added a $200k roster bonus.

Graham saved us $3.3m by having his $5m roster bonus spread over 3 years.

I'm about to try to find closer to the real number. Colston's numbers still aren't confirmed. That'll make it go up.

The $2.4m under number seems correct but it is indeed without Colston's new number (which still hasn't been confirmed as a base restructure or an actual pay cut). That will give us at least $3m more.

Then there is Hawthonre and Bush's imminent trade or release. And we are still likely to do something with Evans (trade, pay cut, cut, or restructure).

Edit:
So if we cut Hawthonre, Bush, and Evans and Colston saves three mil we will be $15m under. And though nothing has been rumored White and Watson could still be cut and we could still do something with Grubbs.

Can't see why we would cut Bush.

Too much depth at safety so we could use his $2m better elsewhere. And honestly he didn't play that well while he was in. Both Sanford and Warren played better and Sunseri looks promising.

They are shopping both Hawthorne and Bush but I have a feeling we won't get any takers like with Lofotn so they'll be cut instead.

Over the cap has it as $5,399,500 under. Doesn't appear they have the Colston number updated as his cap his is still $9.7M.

This does not include converting Lofton to a Post June 1st cut which would save an additional $3M.

Samford I don't recall really out playing Bush, but I will say that I think Bush gets a bit too much love on this board......Pierre Warren on the other hand definitely showed up and shined as a true playmaker, but he also needs to work on his angles and wrapping up to eliminate some of the missed tackles he had last year...But with that being said he was only a UFA Rookie making his first few career NFL starts, future looks bright for Warren IMO

Do you have a link to the page you're looking at? Two places on over the cap still have us over the cap and a third has us around $2.4m under.

On Lofton, it looks like (but isn't confirmed) that he is not a June 1st cut. And we don't get the extra space until June 1st I believe.

First, the Saints didn't give him that much. He got a league mandated bonus because of playing time.

Second, I'm very interested to see what direction they go. Let's just say we can't get a CB in FA for whatever reason. It then makes sense to keep him for depth. And we are under the cap so there is no immediate pressure to cut him. If we agree to terms with someone we can always release him to free up the money at that point.

No one was offering two firsts. If someone wanted to sign him to an offer that would have been our compensation but NO ONE wanted to give up two first.

And there was never any trade talk either so we have no idea if anyone offered even one first rounder.

I'm not a JG fan. He is good but tends to get eaten up by athletic corners

I see your mistake. The total cap number is the number for all the players we have signed, not our salary cap. That's set at about $145m. So looking at that and the top 51 number, that page shows we are still over the cap.

Click on the calculator. It'll make more sense.

Now that we are under there is no rush to cut guys until we have other contracts locked up. Like Hawthorne might stay around until we sign another LB. Bush might stay until we need more money. White might stay until we sign a CB. Etc.
