Has anyone ever eaten at her place? Is she still open? Last article I saw was done in 2012 and that put her at 82yrs old.

Not sure. I didn't make the plans but our group was larger than that

I can't seem to find a phone number? Do you have it or can you get it from whomever makes the reservation for y'all?

Her setup is pretty unfancy; open kitchen w dining area adjacent. Delicious food, but if you have a bayou cajun grammaw or aunties, her food will be the same. Not saying she's not an excellent cook...just that I have access to plenty of family that cook just like her.

I want to get her cookbook. I drove by there one time - you'd never guess there was a restaurant in there. It was converted from a welding shop.

Do you recall the cost per person? I would imagine you have to bring your own wine.

I've been a couple of times. Last time it was $40 per person. Bring own booze but she has glasses. The old welding shop is her sons old building. Pickup out front with an herb garden in it. It's pretty good as above it's good old bayou cooking. It's still a fun time and she is still in it. Has her granddaughter and a niece helping her.

She does tons of out of state and abroad customers. She has a group from France that has been coming yearly for a long time and the same from a group of Californians. I see the appeal from out of state but honestly I prefer my gumbo.

I think it was about a dozen minimum people but not positive but up to around 40. And when you go the place is yours. She has only one group at a time. Last time I set it up she answered the phone and handled all the details. That was about a year and a half. Each time we had about 16-20 people and cases of wine and hired a shuttle bus.
