Anyone have any good recs? I've been on a military scifi kick lately.

Looking for some new books.

Read recently:

Armor
Valor's Choice
Heart of Valor
Better Part of Valor
On Basilisk Station
Andromeda Series (Dietz)

Already read Starship Troopers. Great book.

Might have to check out Old Man's War and Forever War.

military scifi kick
Harry Turtledove did a sweet worldwar series. Aliens invade during WWII and the world has to figure out a way to stop them.

Starship troopers is pretty great

I just read up on that Turtledove series.
Worldwar.
From what I have gathered, that is next on my list.
Turtledove takes more of a grand strategy approach to his books if that helps at all.

Not my preferred genre, but I know this guy. He's originally from Lake Charles, and has gotten some decent reviews. LINK

ETA: The hero is a Cajun named Max Robichaux

Check out John Ringo's Posleen War series. Action packed. Old Man's War series great but I wouldn't comsider it "military". Forever War was great too.

Have you ever read or heard of Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin series set in the Napoleonic Wars? (The movie 'The Far Side of the World' was made from this series.) David Drake has written a series of books, The RCN Series, (RCN = Republic of Cinnabar Navy) that uses the Aubrey/Maturin series as inspiration for a space navy series. Its excellent.

As a matter of fact, anything by David Drake, John Ringo, and Tom Kratman is excellent.

Stick to Baen (publisher) and you will always be able to find good military sci-fi.
