Martin or Mickey doesn't have the hype of JOB III coming out of there soph year and he came back his junior year so I know CJJ gone push for them to comeback. Plus with the recruits coming in (per Newman committing to us soon, hopefully) we would have a rotation like UK next year. Which would make for a fresh dominant team.

Mickey has the skill but health is an issue now. Martin well shows up when he wants too.

Should they stay YES but will they NO

A) it would be tough to get both of them to stay

B) while the rotation would be solid, all 9 of the guys in kentucky's rotation are top 20 or 30 recruits with most being top 10 recruits. They were also all McDonald's All-Americans. We would have 3 (4 if Newman comes). Kentucky's rotation this year is unreal.

But with all that said, regardless of what happens, I think we have the potential to be the class of the SEC next season.

Difference is UK has an NBA caliber coach and we have a Southland Conference caliber coach. Talent only goes so far.

I wish they would. I think Mickey needs to improve his offense, and Martin needs to drastically improve his defense. One more year would probably benefit them, but I am 90% sure both will leave.

I get the same feeling, though I would hope at this point that my favorite NBA team would not draft either. They're just not ready, mentally or physically in my view. That's not to say that in a year they could be physical beasts if some team does take a chance on them. NBA teams do a lot of project signing, especially with 2nd rounders.

Maybe if people keep starting these threads, M&M will read them and be convinced to come back.

That's a good point. I wouldn't want NO or Houston to draft either. Certainly not in the 1st round.

Here is my list of kids that will almost certainly get drafted before Martin. I'm not even considering Mickey because it's a waste of time.

1) Okafor
2) Towns
3) Stein
4) Johnson
5) Booker
6) Turner
7) Winslow
8) Looney
9) Oubre
10) Dunn
11) Kaminsky (7' white kid with consistent game as a back-up 5)
12) Lyles
13) Poettl (another 7' white kid with (at minimum) back-up potential)
14) Wood
15) Wright
16) Wallace
17) Harrell
18) Hunter
19) Alexander
20) PORTIS (Most mocks have him in this range...THINK ABOUT THAT)

Others on most 1st Rd mocks:
Mudia (foreign player in most top 10 mocks)
Hezonja (same as above)
Porzingis (same as above)
Levert
A Harrinson (laugh but he will get a flyer over either M&M)
Jefferson
Deker
Jones
Anderson
Diagne
Meeks
Rozier

Go watch film on the first 20 which are current college players. The first 3 foreigners on my 2nd list are all going before M&M but I didn't watch any film. I noted the (2) 7' white kids because they are good examples of the type of player that a team would take for Yr1 roster potential. The only thing that could move Martin into that top 20 would be a significant tournament run by LSU and dominant performances by Martin. Also...Does anyone think Martin moves past Portis at #20? I say no way.

You can also add another ~2-3 players that will move into 1st rd consideration after the NCAA tournament.

What's the point...

It's a fricking shame that some MFers will convince Martin that he is a 1st rd lock. Anyone who tells Mickey that he has a better than 50% chance of getting drafted (at all) should get his arse kicked if it doesn't happen.

It's really not always about being drafted, the D League is become more of a viable option every year, they are trying to make it a true minor leagues to the NBA. If that isn't an option Europe still is. They still get to play quality competition, they can focus solely on basketball and above all they get some monetary compensation.

Yes the NBA is the ultimate goal for these guys but if you don't think they can develop in the D League or Overseas exactly the same or even more than they would here you are lying to yourself.
