I've only ever flown Delta for international flights. Was fine, they did their job of getting us there and keeping my wine glass full.

Have option of United or Delta to Dublin and want to find out if anyone might recommend one or the other. I've hated United when I've flown them domestically. But I know international jets/flight staff are usually much better. TIA

United hits less snow banks

So that's something to consider

Don't fly Delta trying to land in LaGuardia in wintry conditions.

F'ng Ash!

Cost doesn't matter. I dont want to book United, have a bad experience and then everyone say "well I could've told you to do delta, should have asked."

PS: Delta would connect at JFK and Atlanta on way back. United would connect in Newark (ugh) en route and in DC on the way back.
Drawback: 7 hour layover en route with delta. Only a three hour en route with United.

Pss: Im glad I wasn't on that delta LGA flight today. I would be scarred.

As shitty as delta is, their international flights have been good to me.

They seem pretty good for international.
Was wondering what United's international reputation was.

I came to post the exact same thing with United.

I used Delta this year for a trip to Europe and it was a very good experience. The Atlanta international terminal is very nice as well. CDG is a mixed bag but my more recent experience flying through there is positive.

Go with whoever you have status with. If you have any chance for upgrades with United, use them.

Delta has a solid "economy plus" seat that is actually quite comfortable for someone my size (6'2") that is usually only another $100 for an international trip like that. That's a great option if you don't have a chance for upgrades and are trying to fly on a budget. To my knowledge, United doesn't have something like that.

Have fun and bring a nice set of headphones. I'd steer clear of anything with a 3+ hour layover.

I have a chance with delta but my husband doesn't. Lol. I travel, get the hotel and flight points, not him. And for international flights upgrades are not cheap. Usually more than the original ticket itself.

Soooo. I'm thinking I may end up going with United just because I don't want a 7 hour layover at JFK. And I would get to Dublin at 7A versus 10A.

If you're flying economy both will have similar service and in-flight experience.

Go with the one that you already have miles with in your FF account and gets you there at the most ideal times.

Tough break for him.

If he's a bigger guy, book him an "economy plus" seat on the isle or behind the bulkhead an buy him some nice headphones.

I flew United to London a dozen times in the last 2 years, sometimes through Newark or Dulles and never had a problem. Try to get on a 787 if you can, it's a nice aircraft.

News flash: Flying today just plain sucks. Book the cheapest or most convenient, the difference between Delta and United international is pretty nominal
