Fun fact: The voice of Cow is Chris Hardwick host of Talking Dead.

I'll say Ren and Stimpy also. I was at LSU when it came out and it was must see TV because it was the craziest shite we had ever seen in a cartoon. "You covet my ice cream bar!" Powdered Toast Man, Log, etc. the horse was the shite "no sir didn't like it". The tooth nerve fairy was fricked up.

My daughter loves Regular show, Adventure Time, and Gumball. She has to explain it to me because I'm like how are that Cat and Fish brother and sister and what the hell are their parents. What's up with the kid wearing the hat from Where the Wild Things are and the blind dog wearing Marcy glasses?

A transvestite rabbit and a hunter who wants to make sweet Viking love to him are pretty weird in my opinion...but I understand what you mean. As an older guy , I remember the world thinking the Simpsons was crude, not weird. Remember though, it was introduced as a segment on the Tracy Ulman Show.

I put the absurdity line of demarcation at around Ren & Stimpy as well. Many of my friends liked it, and I just didn't get it.

Bugs is so sophisticated with its humor it's on a level by itself.

The Beatles' Yellow Submarine was pretty strange. As were some of the animated stuff Monty Python did.

Squidbillies and Aqua Team Hunger Force are prob my favorite of the weird cartoon.

Check out Mr. Pickles, it's by far the most offensive cartoon I've ever seen. The last episode I saw features the satanic dog. Mr. pickles, cutting off a guys head and then fricking it. This is on cable TV too

One of my son's favorite toons is Uncle Grandpa which features a talking slice of pizza and a talking fanny pack. Now I'm not saying these can't be funny, but absurd humor gets old and has limits.

Now get off my lawn.

We had Ren and Stimp which was weird.

Yes Adventure Time, Uncle Grandpa, Gumball and Regular show are all very weird, but I kinda find myself getting drawn into them... right Pizza Steve?

All kids shows are wierd as shite.

I feel like there aren't any normal shows.

Of course we had cow and chicken and run and stimpy and that wierd shite.

But we also had Doug and Hey Arnold and even Spongebob.

Now they have uncle grandpa, adventure time, normal show, etc....

Don't get me wrong, adventure time is a fricking awesome show, but it's acid trip ridiculous. As are most shows. Super adhd, super trippy, it's crazy.

Johnny Bravo
Rockos modern life

Both of those shows were goofy and obnoxious, but at their core they were real interactions and you could learn things subconsciously. The current landscape is untethered from any reality or central theme. It's what makes them different.

At least 20 years ago. "Aah! Real monsters!" was a weird one when I was a kid.

Nickelodeon put out a lot of weird shite, now that I think about it- Cat Dog was another weird one.
