One of my son's favorite toons is Uncle Grandpa which features a talking slice of pizza and a talking fanny pack. Now I'm not saying these can't be funny, but absurd humor gets old and has limits.

Now get off my lawn.

I'm 20, and I consider myself fairly flexible when it comes to cartoons today.

That said, Uncle Grandpa is freaking creepy.

I'd go with this as the first major culprit:

Beavis and Butthead was pretty bad. And I am sure the much older crowd were flabbergasted by The Simpsons when it came out. Homer was choking out his own 10 year-old son in the first season - a far cry from The Jetsons or The Flintstones.

Now that I think about it, you're probably right. I remember thinking how unique that cartoon was during it's time.

I love that his left nut is lower than his right nut.

Ren and Stimpy are young pups.

There have been bizarre cartoons getting pumped out for some time.

From Disney to Dr Seuss to Fritz the Cat and on.

shite man, the Pink Elephants number in Dumbo is kind of nuts. Its just that you grew up with those so they seem normal.

The Simpsons wasn't absurd though. They just had more adult-oriented humor.
