I think the point is why can't he or Odo get some more playing time over Darcy Malone. I love Darcy's energy, however is lack of athleticism, particulary his inability to jump or box out (or maybe even make a FT???) makes me scratch my head as to how he gets playing time.
Darcy is a much better passer and can be relied on to catch the ball outside to help the guards. More mobile on perimeter and can set better picks as well.

Having said that it is inexcusable that Odo and Robinson can't see the court. We are playing teams with far less talent and Jones just rides his starters the whole game.

Odo did airball a layup in the shootaround before the game.

Seriously though, he'd have been playing over Malone if he weren't a senior. Malone isn't as hopeless as many think and he could be a useful player next season.

6'9-6'10. Aaron is the same height as Jarell in every picture I've seen.

Since JJ got Martin and Mickey he followed up on the front court recruiting by bringing in Odo, Epps, Malone, Robertson and Bridgewater. Houston, we have a problem!

Is this serious? Do you purposefully live with your head in the sand so you can blindly bash JJ?

You can hate on JJs game management all you want, but one thing he has done an amazing job at is recruiting.

Every team needs a 10th guy on the bench.

Lost 70 pounds in 4 months by dieting only. Lost a tremendous amount of strength in both his upper and lower body. Still could stand to lose 10-15 more pounds to get down to the 250-255 range but adding strength and improving foot speed/overall quickness is paramount.

This. He's had a drastic change to his body and needs to build up strength, improve conditioning and learn how to use his new body. And he probably has to change his style of play due to the weight loss. Needs to hone his skills and get used to his body and new style of play.

He's gonna be fine. Relax.

isnt he dealing with some kind of a lower-body injury?

if he and epps were healthy enough to give a good 5-7 minutes it would help a lot.

elbert was starting at the beginning of the year and i still like him as a guy who can develop into a viable sec big

I said "front" court recruiting. Read the post!
Sure, Simmons is a great get for next year. But how many of you think he comes to LSU if his godfather wasn't here?

You mean like a power forward?

So, once again...

Kansas, Florida, Texas to name a few. Can't get on the floor before Darcy Malone. What the hell happened?

Just fricking relax. It takes big guys a while to adjust at times. JOB wasn't the 5 star he was touted to be his freshman year. Settle down and gIve the big guy a chance to adjust

Why do people try to take credit away from JJ on this one? David Patrick was hired to try to lure Simmons to BR and it worked, great move by JJ

I don't know. Patrick has been a great recruiter for us.

I haven't heard that, but it'd make a lot of sense. you could tell he was making some noticeable improvement each time he got in

No he wasn't. Dave has been here since day one. Ben wasn't even a top 100 recruit when Dave was hired you dumb shite. He blew up during the summer inbetween his Sophmore and junior years.

If this is true, it might be a bad move for cJJ. I would replace him at head coach with David Patrick in a heartbeat.

We should probably hire Musselman over Patrick if we're having to choose among assistants...
