It's already been posted in this thread. And one time my cousin went to a party and somebody put marijuana in his drink and he had an allergic reaction and died

Every time you buy marijuana you're giving the cartel more money to buy machetes to cut peoples heads off with

you know why they cut peoples heads off? because marijuana makes you violent

It's an attempt to frame the bill in a way that will get the religious behind it. I doubt it works, but I like the attempt.

In a state full of people that pride themselves on small government conservatism, he understands that it's not the desire for government control that makes the people go against legalization, it's their desire to legislate morality.

Exactly, if legal, no heads get chopped off. My cousin has a peanut allergy, should we ban peanuts?

1) If we want to talk about the dangers of having fun, ask Ben Wynn what he thought about drinking and pledging. Even after his death, people still drink and pledge. You can't hide everyone from all dangers. We live in a (mostly) free society.

2)Let's say I live in Denver and have a backyard. If I grow my own pot, please tell me how I am giving money to cartels.

one of the more ironic things I've learned about Texas

Conservative Texans don't mind big government one bit if it's legislating to their benefit/morals

Once marijuana companies start advertising to children to get them hooked early the cartels will have to increase production (ie more heads getting cut off)

You're comparing apples and oranges here. Jimmy Carter was a peanut farmer, are you calling a former US president a criminal?

Any politician who refers to "God" can gtfo, even if I agree with what's being said. The real question is what you're doing is in the best interest of constituents and is it with in the bounds of the constitution. When churches start paying taxes, they can start having an opinion on laws

Don't most people vote in the people they believe will push for what they believe?

Alcohol is safe and isn't a drug like marijuana is, I don't know what you're trying to say

This is the part that sucks. The regulations are unbelievable. Anyone who uses "tax and regulate" as a reason for legalization is a fool.

Agreed. I hate people who say "legalize it and tax the shite out of it". First of all we are taxed enough already and second if you "tax the shite out of it" the black market wont go away.

Truth. My fraternity brother smoked 4 pots one night and I almost had to call 911. Really opens your eyes to how quickly a little "fun" can go bad.

Should I look up deaths related to alcohol annually then compare it to marijuana?
