Damn he was a hot commodity for a few years.
What a crash and burn.

Should have kept Karl.

Not surprising. They are a very, very bad team. I watched about 5 minutes of their last game and it looked to me like the players were mailing it in.

Being Phil Jackson's lackey might get your foot in the door, but it's not going to excuse your shitty coaching when you're obviously in over your head.

They've won 20 games, which isn't good, but they've beaten
Cleveland
OKC
Indiana twice
NOP twice
Chicago twice
Phoenix
Miami
Clippers
Memphis
Dallas
Bad teams don't beat that many good teams.
Utah and Sacramento have similar wins as well.
They aren't bad teams, just missing something to make them good.

I don't know if he is a decent coach or not but they are a horrible team. He didn't have much to work with and yes, they should have kept Karl. I am a Nuggets fan but have no delusions about them winning a title anytime soon if ever. Denver is not going to attract superstar free agents in basketball. It isn't that type of city. I really liked Karl's last season here. We were damn good in the regular season and almost unbeatable at home. The run and gun style they played was fun to watch. Yea, losing in the first round sucked but they shouldn't have fired him for it. Shaw getting fired with McGee(Karl refusing to play him was one of if not the reason he got fired) getting cut just shows how bad this franchise f'ed up.

Should Derek Fisher watch out despite Phil being around him?

Pop's disciples > Phil's disciples

And they shouldve paid Masai Ujiri more.

i remember them saying that Shaw was having a hard time getting his guys to buy in and stop texting and social networking during practice and before games.

quote:Fisher has been carried by that backroom sweetheart deal with the owners during the last CBA negotiations. That's how he inexplicably kept getting work and minutes as a player when he clearly didn't deserve (ask Thunder fans) and that's how he had a high-paying HC job for which he is totally unqualified waiting for him the day he retired.

What a bust. And I will fully admit I thought he was the next great thing
