Becoming an Outdoors Woman

Have any of you sent your lady to this?

I got my hunter's safety card at Camp Grant Walker when I was in the 4th grade. We shot .22 targets, 20ga at skeet, and learned archery. The dance barn wasn't bad either. This looks like a fun weekend. My OL is curious. She might try it with a friend.

My mama went.

She liked it she came back telling us we shouldn't hook our jigs to the eyes of our rods.

Nice concept, just two problems:
1. Some of us hunt and fish to escape the ladies.
2. Teaching the woman how to shoot can result in you ending up like that Covington doctor, if you piss her off.

Otherwise, great fun.

Is lick her okay?

I kid. One day we will have grown children. We actually like doing things together. The more interest she has, the better outdoor toys I can buy,

I know a couple of ladies who have attended this and they just loved it...in fact, they have been back every year since...

fwiw, I attended 4-H camp at camp grant walker also and remember it fondly....

Thanks. It looks like a lot of fun. I think she's going to do it.

For the life of me I can't figure out why they would put that during turkey season? Granted if you aren't in the outdoors already you miss nothing but why not do it now in early March and save conflicts?

When your lady becomes an Outsdoors Woman, does she have to also turn unattractive?

Friend of mine's wife did this locally. We went out and volunteered, it was kind of cool.

It's an awesome program. My dad helped set that thing up in the beginning and is still heading down there every year to teach. I went with him one year when he was too disabled to do it on his own so I've gotten to see it first hand. It's a truly great program. Hell, most guys could benefit from that level of training.

It's run by great people that really care about the program. I recommend it for anybody that wants to either help or do the program.
