Imagine my initial suggestion in your previous thread did not help any? A second suggestion was to find a flight to Austin or Shreveport or some other airport within driving distance to Dallas and then rent a vehicle and drive home or have someone come by and pick you up.

Lastly, faced with the idea of being stuck somewhere for a weekend, I would have made the 15 hour drive. Living in an airplane for most of my work life, many times I have made the 15-16 hour drives to get home.

All I have learned in this thread:

- the OP is high enough on the totem pole at work to be traveling as a representative of said company, yet low enough that changing his travel itinerary warrants executive approval, and that executive approval was not forthcoming on a weekend.

- there were so many people traveling from Phoenix to Dallas this weekend that every single airline was booked for all flights between the two cities.

- there were so many people traveling from Phoenix to every other destination on planet Earth that it was impossible to line something up.

- the Phoenix airport was so busy that it took 3 hours to wait in line for a desk agent, plus 1 hr for another desk agent, plus 5 hrs on the phone. That's 9 hrs that would have gotten you 60% of the way back home.

I am going to go out of the way and call BS on most of this story.

Actually about 85% of AA's flights to DFW on Friday and Saturday were cancelled

He said it's a great plane, but it took him six months to get the smell of pussy and Pall Mall's out of the cabin.

dude had his share for sure, just calculated it, I've spent 2.85 years in an airplane in the air, doesn't count any time in the airplane on the ground
