We let Stevie stay in the lineup 2 years despite not hitting his weight the whole season.

I'd say this is the most concerning thing. I don't think anyone expects Robertson to knock the cover off the ball, but if he's going to be bunting as much as he has (especially with 2 strikes!) he's got to improve that. I think if he can master the art of the bunt he can be a productive bat. He can cycle over on base players (assuming they exist) for the top of the order and hes got decent enough speed to where he could occasionally try a bunt single. Unfortunately thus far he looks about as comfortable bunting as I would if you threw me out there.

Oh and one other thing: I'll also say Papierski has also been struggling at the plate. His avg is something like .123. Doesn't have all that many at bats, but definitely hasn't been making the most of them thus far. He'll have to improve that if he wants to push for legitimate playing time over Scivique

I don't see a problem with one guy hitting 250 while everyone else hits 300 as long as it keeps Chinea off the field. Add in the he's our best infielder, and it's hilarious that people want to take him off the field.

PM has shown in the past that he will sacrifice a little offense for better defense (Nola and Stevenson's freshman years)

And Ross too who wasn't a freshman.

Not everyone is a 300 hitter nor do they have to be with as many good hitters we have. I just do not like the alternatives when KRob isn't on the field.

And like hcb said, he's got a decent OBP which is way more important for a guy like him anyway. I don't see a problem with his bat.

Austin Nola hit .240 in 2009 and id argue we dont win the championship without his defense.

for the foreseeable future Zardon and Robertson will start 3 out of 4 games at a minimum every week.

Robertson isn't a power hitter. who cares if he isn't hitting it great.

Roberston is a good defensive player I don't think he has an error.

Zardon needs to clean up at 3B which I think he will, but he has hit the ball well.

one more thing

put out a unproven defender but with little better bat you may get a run more a game.

but a good second baseman could save a couple runs a game with double plays, good range. Plus if you put in a guy at 2B who struggles the other team may get a couple more runs a game.

I don't mind if Robertson is great at 2B with his D but hits sub .250.

Would our new hitting coach have anything to do with this?

If he can keep his BA above the Mendoza Line, he's worth keeping at 2B. We need his glove, especially given the fact that we have struggled on defense early.

note: the best option if Robertson can't keep it above .200

move hale to 2B move Chinea or someone else to 1B. Put a good bat at DH.

You still lose a lot with that lineup though but it's something we have seen early.

Just being a devil's advocate since there is no game today...

Who do you sit on the bench to keep KRob's glove on the field? Assuming Kade S is the best option at C, who is the DH and whose bat is left out?

Chinea - .326 avg, 3rd on the team with 14 hits, 8 RBI

Foster - .360 avg, .720 slg, 5 XBH

Fraley - .385 avg, .692 slg, 5 XBH

Hale - .348 avg, team leading 16 hits
