quote:What was his screen name? If you don't mind sharing at least... I'm curious if it was one of my TD buddies?
I knew what you meant and didn't mean to get, this deep so early in the day but had a few brews watching LSU-OLE Miss. Haven't had any phone contacts die except my son 12-2-13 . He posted here. Warmed my heart to see other TD poster friends of his say they would never delete his # from their phones.

Thankfully I haven't encountered that problem yet.

I still haven't deleted my friend Jame's (WarhawkTiger6) from my phone. Just can't bring myself to do it

I will never delete Josey's contact info or texts. I revisit those texts once a week or so.

I am an avid outdoor board lurker. Your son's story and the friends and family that came together is touching and heartbreaking. I got emotional even though I never knew him.
No better time to get deep than after a few beers and an LSU win.

My mother is still on my contact list and she has been gone since 2010. Can't make myself delete it.

the next day.
its not like you killed him by deleting his name.
it keeps you from having to remember the death every single day.
move along. Everyone dies.
If you want to make use of the incident of his dying - remember, your life is ON LOAN from God, and your every breath is a gift from God.

Read texts often first few months. Too sad now but want them there when ready to go back.

Lots of sad threads in the past few days. I guess I'm partly responsible too, because I started one.

Apparently it's a thing to leave someone's social media account up for friends/family to post on it on anniversaries, etc. Kind of weird, but whatever helps them cope.
Worse is there's always somebody out of the loop who says "happy birthday, let's get together," or "looking good!" on a thread where everybody else is posting remembrances.

It took me a couple of years before I took my brothers name out of my contact list. I felt bad every time I tried to do it prior to actually doing it. In my mind, removing it was saying that he was dead and was never coming back, which was something I didn't want to believe.
Side story, his nephew used his phone for a couple years after he died, and one day out of the blue my phone rang with my brothers name showing up on my screen, I damn near had a heart attack, I lost it and had to compose myself before answering once I realized it was my nephew calling.

Aww so sorry for your loss
Mine are still in my contacts or still my fb friend even though it's been years. They always survive the purge

Please stop posting this
This is the second time it's annoyed me today
And "next day...move along. everyone dies." is really crass
