I occasionally get an email from Facebook asking if I know someone who died a few years ago.

My dad passed away a few years ago. My mothers home phone is still in his name so when she calls my house our phone says call from " my fathers name ". The first time it happened about a week after he died my kids who were 11 and 13 froze and just looked at each other.

I give them a few months to make sure before deleting. You never know.

I don't ever delete contacts. They don't take up space and it's not a huge deal seeing then to me.

Keeping contacts doesn't mean "you haven't moved on." That's retarded. I have a dead friend in here and I've moved on, but it's nice to take a second to think about him when I see his name come up while searching another.

Sometimes you need to see old names to appreciate what you have now, there's nothing wrong to relive the past or pay a "remembrance" tribute.
