How long do you wait to take dead people off your contacts?

Had a friend pass away a few months ago and his name pops up first every time I put a N in my phone. At what point do you delete contacts who have passed away? Deleted and felt bad about it but not as bad as seeing it multiple times a week.

Should have tried to call him first.

It took a few years before I deleted my little brother's (Greek affiliation) number out of my phone. It always just seemed wrong to do it. I didn't really regret it once I did.

May never get another phone just to keep son's texts on first page.

My best friend passed 2.5 years ago. His contact is still in my phone. Never deleted his text either, got a new phone so it's not on there anymore but it's saved on the Internet where I could access it if I wanted

When you forget who they are.

I'd never be able to get rid of that. Sorry for your loss, I just can't imagine the loss of a child.

I'm sure you could save those off and download to a new phone. Sorry for your loss.

It's time to delete it.... he isn't calling you or vice versa anytime soon

Always strange when you see someone post under that person's account. Recently a deceased friend was spammed by what looked like an escort/porn service. Was pretty funny to see everyone being a good sport by Liking the post.

Time to move on.
I say that but I still think I have an ex girlfriend that OD'd on my friends list on FaceBook

I knew what you meant and didn't mean to get, this deep so early in the day but had a few brews watching LSU-OLE Miss. Haven't had any phone contacts die except my son 12-2-13 . He posted here. Warmed my heart to see other TD poster friends of his say they would never delete his # from their phones.
