AT the same time....if LSU were to lose to Tenn this Wednesday....then they would be almost in a must win on the road at Arkansas.

For the record, I'd rather a 10 or 11 seed than a 8 or 9 seed.

If they lose to Tenn, then @Ark or SECT win will be a must (won't have the double-bye, so should be against USC, MSU, AU or Mizz).

I think we would all agree with this, but getting in is much more important than playing the seeding game now. If LSU ended up an 8 or 9, I would just hope it's not in UK or UVA bracket.

why do you dumb mf's do this after every win....what happens if LSU loses a couple games and then loses first round in tourney?

Just wait and see what happens. I swear you kids make a fanbase look bad with your ridiculous logic.

If we lose the next 2 it's all the boat's fault!!!!!!

I clearly over stepped with the dumpster fire comment. We are a better conference than in previous years, which says very little. Regardless, I'll retract that statement. It boils down to how you interpret the parity behind Kentucky.

More importantly I don't see why after every win we have a thread touting us as "IN". Nothing about this ball club should indicate we will cake walk to a 1-1 finish.

Believe me I called this a tourney team before the half way point and think we can make noise, but I'd hardly consider it a done deal.

Cool enough.

I think the last 7 games are more of a testament to this team's progress than the 3 ugly losses. Inserting Patterson into the starting lineup and Martin playing hard has done wonder for this team. The TAMU loss was a hard pill to swallow, but LSU is 5-2 during that stretch with the only other loss coming by 2 points vs unbeaten UK. @AU rematch, @Tenn and today's game were all pretty much blowouts in LSU's favor.

I think it's as close to a done deal as we can get at this point. The ugly losses can't be taken back at this point, but LSU has pretty much done what they've needed to do to recover. IMO one more win puts LSU in the NCAAT. Much different spot than we were in 8 games ago (back to back losses to @MSU and AU).

As I stated earlier, the SEC will have 6 teams top 50 RPI. LSU's record against Ole Miss and UGA is 3-0. LSU's record against overall top 50 RPI is 5-4 (better than every SEC team except UK). It's a good resume.

Next couple of games are huge. If we beat Tennessee, I feel ok. Think we can then afford to lose to Arky, and then go 1-1 in the SEC and still be safe.

It's strange, isn't it?

This was a very important game and LSU dominated ftw. Fans should be encouraged about what they've seen the last month. Instead...

Too many posters focusing on the losses to Mizzou and AU and unable to grasp the big picture. Today was a quality win, another on LSU's resume. I wouldn't be surprised if LSU out-RPI's Ole Miss after this week. They were 46 ESPN and LSU 52. LSU has swept Ole Miss, who was recently projected as a 7 seed.

LSU is 28 in KenPom, 2nd highest SEC team. All of the experts have LSU in - and today's win only strengthens it. Only a complete meltdown will leave LSU out - and that's what those posters have focused on.

If we beat Tennessee I really think we're in. Loss at Arkansas is basically expected, and so long as we beat Tenn, I think we can still lose the first SEC tourney game and slide in at 10 or so.

Lose to Tenn, that changes things up some. Arkansas game becomes big, and if we lose that too, we may need to make it a couple games deep into the SEC tourney to be safe. You really don't want to be on the edge of the bubble once conference tournaments start; all it would take is a couple upsets and you get bumped out.

We're ALMOST there, and it feels good to be in that position after a few years on the outside.

I think we finish 1-1 to close and go 1-1 in the tournament. We'd be fortunate to get in at 23-10.

Texas is 17-12 (6-10) in the BIG 12 and 1-12 against RPI top 50...and they're on the bubble!!! 23-10 is something to be proud of and warrants a tourney bid. There's no doubt.

Also, don't underestimate the name recognition this LSU team has because of Martin, Mickey, and playing so well against UK.
Furthermore, 5-4 against RPI top 50 is quite good.
