I just feel like I did after season 2. Like I haven't seen season 3 yet.

I mean nothing was really accomplished or happened this season. The whole writing of the book drug on and was a waste.

13 episodes for Claire to leave Frank and Doug to kill 'Cassie'?

All that waiting for this season and I feel somewhat letdown.

I think this was a set up season. I feel like everything is built up for the massive implosion of Frank's empire that will be season 4 or at least that's what I'm hoping.

I don't see what it set up, aside from Claire possibly leaving him. Let's face it, we all know Frank will win reelection, so as of now I'm seeing their estrangement pointless in the grand scheme unless Claire pulls a Lucille Bluth and gets her husband arrested while she still enjoys the finer things in life. One of the major loose ends with Rachel has already been tied up, and the only loose end now is Lucas who is in jail and Janine. Rachel had the most damning evidence though, and unless they find Doug's DNA on Rachel's body (if they somehow find it and soon), then they just got a worry off of Frank's shoulders. I just don't know how we're not starting back from Square One, except Frank now is president and Claire is unhappy.

I disagree. Season 5 of LOST certainly was, but at least it was actually building up to something. This was building up to nothing though. Claire as an ambassador and Putin were dropped in the middle of the season. Really just a sloppy season. The only thing it nicely built up to was Rachel's death, and that's really it. The show isn't nearly as smart as it thinks it is, because if it was, the creators would insist on this being the final season.

You forgot Gavin. Still a major loose end that can pretty much get access to any info he wants. He could stir a lot of shite. Claire could go to the guy who was working on the book, do a tell all and expose Frank's gay escapades among other things. Who knows?

That's true enough. Didn't think of him as that loose of an end, but he does know about Rachel, although he doesn't know everything she did. If he can somehow find her body (although I don't see how even he can do it) and link her and Stamper, then he may be fricked as well as Frank when Lucas and Janine provide the evidence on why she was killed. Doug should have just killed him.

Frank can just deny that though, and say his wife and friend are delusional. If somehow Gavin can track down Rachel's body, and then have some evidence that Doug was in the general area and link it to what Lucas found in his investigation, then Frank is fricked.

It was a setup season, imo

But I believe the writers will come back with a fairly decent season 4.

No entire season of television should be a "set up season." Of course it can and should set up arcing storylines, but to tread water for 13 episodes, accomplish nothing, and then say that's okay because it's a setup season for a potentially great next year is ridiculous.

Doug actually joining Dunbar would've been the better storyline.

Like you, I'm disappointed, but Netflix disappointed.. which means I can watch the disappointment at my pace/time, so it's not nearly as bad as a cable sitcom letdown

Ducked in without seeing any spoilers.

I've watched 10/13 and I really have to say I'm disappointed so far.

Is this The West Wing reboot or HoC?

This season wasn't what I expected. I expected it be the last season with the presidency being the last stage of his story.

Overall, I'm disappointed and think this season was mediocre.

This is a valid point. I quickly got over the mediocrity of this mess. The steaming pile of shite that was the latest Homeland Season Finale... I may take that disgust to my grave with me.

Everyone assumes that Frank will fall but what if he doesn't? What if he wins it all in the end? I'm tired of stories where nice guys finish first. It's a fantasy. People like Frank Underwood win every day. He's powerful, he's ruthless, and he's extremely intelligent. People like that have succeeded throughout history more often than not.

The title of the show suggests that he will. Building a house of cards takes meticulous planning and effort, but one slip up and the whole thing comes crashing down.

I just finished the season and thought it was better than season 2. Even if everything with the Russians was meaningless, I still thought it was awesome and much better drama than anything in season 2.

Claire is just a bitch. Seemed like the easy solution is the Hillary Clinton reference that someone else mentioned. But no, she had to be a dumb bitch.

I liked most of the other storylines too. I do wish we got more Meachum though.

And I was surprised that Doug actually killed Rachel. I always thought she would be the cause of the downfall but I guess not. Maybe Gavin becomes that loose thread now?

And I wonder if Lucas will ever return to the show. I know he is locked up but he knows a lot about Underwood.
