If we go by future NBA careers I think UK is going to have some better pro's then that.

It depends. How many of those UNC players were taking fake classes and would therefore be ineligible?

The thing about 2009 UNC is that their competition was very weak that year. I remember a crippled Michigan State team without their two best players making it all the way to the finals. I personally believe their 2005 team was better. I was very impressed with the way they dispatched a great Illinois team in the finals. So if Kentucky wins the championship this year, I think 2005 UNC is the only championship team in the last ten years who has a case for being better. And in the last 20 years, 1996 Kentucky and 2001 Duke are the only two championship teams were unquestionably better than this year's Kentucky team.

the duke team that beat arizona in 02 or something was probably the best team since 2000. in fact, that arizona team is probably the 2nd best team since 2000.

2001 Duke and 2002 Maryland were both really, really good. 2004 UConn had a dominant tourney run and probably should have had a #1 seed. Their semifinal against Duke was one of the most highly anticipated Final Four games I can remember and it was one of the few that actually lived up to it.

1990 UNLV was every bit as good 1996 Kentucky and better than 2001 Duke

And I'd take 2012 Kentucky over 2009 UNC.

Yep.

That's why I stated last 20 years not last 25 years. I was too young to remember UNLV and college basketball was very different back then with most top players staying three or four years in college so it's even hard to call that time "modern day college basketball".

People forget how good this team was. They could hang with anyone IMO.

They definitely could, but in one of these hypothetical games that would probably be close, I feel like their piss poor free throw shooting would cost them like it did in the title game that year. No question that team was loaded though.

Zeller was a freshman and barely played that year, btw. Danny Green is the guy you're missing.

That wasn't my argument. Ole boy said Lawson played with McCants and May. I was just pointing out Lawson was 2009 and McCants and may we're with Frlton in 2005

i agree with you 100% on everything you have said, although i would say 2012 kentucky is better than this years team, and up there with 01 duke and 05 unc as the best since 2000. 1996 kentucky is the best I've seen, as those unlv teams were just before my time, although i do vaguely remember watching their 30 point win over duke with my grandpa and dad.

05 unc was just loaded(albeit with a bunch of guys that failed in the nba). they pretty much toyed with illinois the whole championship game, illinois hit a bunch of 3s down the stretch to tie it up, and then unc put the clamps down and won by 5.
