Seen way too many gas V8's with 400k - 500k+ on them to consider that a lot. You gotta be a real screw-up not to get at least 400k on any engine made in the last 15 years or so.

Last year my son bought a 92 F150 for $900.
All I will say is he got what he paid for........headache, repairs, rust, and sold it for $800 last week.

OP, look for a Jeep Cherokee in late 1990's or early 2000's with the 4.0L 6. Those engines last for ever. Shitty on gas, but very easy to fix as need. Should be able to find a 2 wheel drive under 2K.
