For LSU the new players came for am reason , knowing he would not be their coach . So LSU has the players we went after. Kyle went to the Vols that is the only player going to LSU . So we have what our two new coaches want , be happy

On what planet do you sue your new employer 2 months in? hilarious!

If you were ever so lucky to be as in demand as Chavis and in your new contract with your new employer it says that your new employer will indemnify you in the event that your previous employer sues you for liquidated damages, you would absolutely sue your new employer and your old employer in a declaratory judgment action to have a judge tell either your old employer it is not entitled to the liquidated damages or to tell your new employer that it is required to pay those liquidated damages.

This is a non-issue made into an issue by people with no understanding of the law or, apparently, employment.

I'd wait until my previous employer filed suit before I proactively filed one against my new employer

Not if it's a friendly lawsuit.

I'd be suing too. It's mostly just a lawsuit to determine the relationship of the parties. Probably just a Dec action.

This.

Texas A&M is as much a part of this suit as Chavis is. They probably counseled it's filing.
If Chavis wins, A&M wins. If Chavis loses, A&M doesn't lose anything it wasn't planning to lose.

What do you suppose Chavis has spent already on lawyers and court costs?

This shyt might be a distraction for him during spring practice.

Someone forward a list of AnM photos and tweets from the 15th to he LSU legal team..
We may find that info easy to find and common however for a group of lawyers not so much.
If he negotiated a new job while under contract and did not disclose it lol

For filing a Dec action? Probably a couple grand, at most.

How does he have a case? On Jan 1, he flew to College Station on an aTm chartered planed with Sumlin and an Associate AD. He also made comments about being a part of the staff.

“I’m excited to play with a great offense, and certainly looking forward to helping the defense get better,” Chavis told the Chronicle from the tarmac of Easterwood Airport. “We get that situation done, and certainly you’re looking at a time, in my mind and in my vision, we will compete for championships.”

A&M coach Kevin Sumlin lured Chavis, long considered one of the nation’s top defensive coordinators, from LSU this week, although A&M has yet to officially announce his hire. Chavis, 58, didn’t wait to arrive in Aggieland to get to work, either.

Flying with his wife, Diane, Sumlin and A&M associate athletic director Justin Moore, Chavis, flew in from Knoxville, Tenn., on Thursday morning.

“We had an opportunity to visit on the plane coming in,” Chavis said of him and Sumlin strategizing. “We’re already getting things started.”

On January 2, 2015, Chavis claims LSU Director of Athletics Joe Alleva demanded that Chavis pay the university $400,000. On January 5, Chavis says he turned in this 30-day notice to terminate the contract without cause, making his last day February 4.

I am no lawyer but this pretty much seals it IMO.
Chavis left LSU after the bowl game and never returned and was working and recruiting for Texas A&M after he gave notice. I could see him being right if he had quit and wasn't working for A&M but this is not the case.
