They are saying he will be back in 4-6 weeks.

But I give him maybe a 5% chance of returning this regular season or playoffs.

It's sad to watch such an explosive guy catch the bug like he has. How demoralizing it must be to have to be constantly rehabing. 3rd knee surgery since 2012. Sad.

With his attitude there is no way he will be back for playoffs.

I'm going to say he comes back for the second round, if the Bulls make it.

This.

Dude needs to learn to play at a different speed. Maybe go 90% instead and you won't tear up your knees all the time.

You guys are morons. It is extremely common to suffer this injury after his previous surgery. Has nothing to do with his play or attitude. Russell Westbrook went through multiple knee surgeries look at him recently.

With the way he rehabs I seriously doubt it.

Just because reinjury is not uncommon (extremely common is an exaggeration), doesn't mean his style of play didn't contribute.

Besides he's also had ankle injuries that have kept him out for multiple games this year. He appears to be prone to injuries for some reason.

Besides having multiple knee injuries and having similar playing styles, the recoveries of Westbrook and Rose could not have been much more different.
Westbrook has consistently recovered within or before the expected timeline, didn't whine (or have family members whine) about the process and future, and has looked just as strong if not stronger pre-injury.

Rose's recoveries have taken longer, he's been quite the complainer during the process, and he is not near the player he was. In fact, given the quality of PG in the league now, he probably hasn't been a top 10 PG(maybe not even top 15) this year.

Westbrook didn't have an ACL injury and had the quick fix with removing his meniscus. Derrick Rose recovered from his ACL then tore his meniscus and opted to have it fixed rather than removed. Now he just had a similar procedure to Westbrooks.

87.5% chance. back for the last two weeks to round into shape and then comes off the bench and plays well for 5 minutes a quarter and is the star with the game on the line the last two minutes of games.
small chance he is not in game shape.

Nope, this is the reason he sat down the rest of that season.

He did not have the quick fix. He had it reattached.

You are thinking of Chris Paul who had the quick fix.

what was the joke from a few years ago? He's available for game 8?

if he wouldn't come back then, when he was supposedly 100% cleared, no way he comes back this year.

I'm actually parroting what orthopedic surgeons have commented on him and his style of play. But yeah if you think you know more than sports med surgeons more power to you.

I don't see any possible, conceivable way that rose will be playing on an NBA court 4 weeks from now.

Did you forget that he's had more procedures. Had one to remove a portion that got messed up when a stitch came out.
