What about our computer at work analyzing the lace as gold? Our computer photo analyzer thing says gold in the picture. So I now feel the picture is gold. Not the dress though

Take a look at a black object aroound (mouse, remote, etc.) Now position it under a light. If someone asked you what color it was, you would say black. Now take a picture of it under the light using a flash. Let your computer analyze it. It will say gray/brown, or whatever depending on the pixel and how the light affects that pixel.

Just because the computer says brown/gray, and the light from the flash makes it come off that way to you, your brain allows you to ignore the flash and overhead lights so you know it's still a black object.

They all three look white and gold to me and the third one just looks like there is a shadow on it or like a pic in the dark.

It's wrong in identifying the actual color of the dress, absolutely.
That isnt what we are trying to do. We are discussing the color of the photo. They are not always one in the same

All I want to see is black and blue, seriously. I even pull up the actual dress and look at it against the last image and it doesn't happen. That dress is clear and gold and white in all those pics to me...even the last one...which just looks like the lighting is off.

To those of you saying white, do you not see the difference between the background of the post and the color of the white/blue stripes?

You are still not getting the argument. The dress in the bottom picture IS BLACK AND BLUE but due to shitty lighting and a terrible camera, MAY appear gold, blue, or brown (And apparently white for the tards ).

No man. YOU are not getting it. I am fully aware that both dresses are the same dress and, therefore, are black and blue.

But I only SEE white and gold.

You are the only one who doesnt understand what is going on. Not a single person is in disagreement on the actual dress color.

You clearly aren't paying attention because no one is arguing the color of the actual dress and also no one is arguing that the computer is incorrect.

I know the dress IS blue and black. I can't for the life of me see it as blue and black in ANY picture...other than the pic of the woman wearing it and the actual pic of the dress for sale. Any of the manipulated original images of the pic look white and gold to me.

Which is all I care about. We printed out the picture. We then analyzed it to see what color it said. Gold was the answer. I dont want my computer to try and use its brain and adjust for shadows lighting etc. We just wanted to know the color on the actual picture

The dress is fricking black and blue. Different colors look different in different lighting situations and contrast/brightness settings.

Those of us that saw it correctly saw that it was in fact, black and blue, but the colors looked different due to those variables.

I see a black and blue dress, that due to lighting/contrast/brightness variables looks washed out or faded.

But I could clearly see it's a blue and black dress
