REVIEW - Coquette

Coquette is hands down my favorite restaurant in New Orleans. Why? Because the food is just that dern good!
A dear friend of mine is moving away (insert tears here), so I wanted to take her out for a memorable meal before she heads out to Buffalo. We purposely arrived at the restaurant to take advantage of their amazing happy hour, only to be told that they no longer have a happy hour (insert more tears here).
The drinks at Coquette are EXPENSIVE! If you're the type to have 3+ drinks with dinner, your drinks will easily cost you more than the food at $12+ a piece!
I love the atmosphere. Dimly lit, big open windows, and dark wood make for a really pretty experience. I would definitely recomend it for a date or a special occasion.
While the service was friendly, I do have a problem with a restaurant that charges $30+ for entrees, and $12+ for drinks to have servers wearing jeans. It kind of plays down the experience of going to dinner at a nice restaurant.
For our appetizer, we shared the charcuterie board. I felt that it was a great value at $24, and it was so good. I HIGHLY recommend it. For our entrees, we both got the duck. It was so tender and flavorful. The spice reminded me of a chinese 5 spice. I found it to be priced right at $28. The entree portions are a tad on the small size, so I was thankful that we had gotten the charcuterie board.
We were headed out to do a little bar hopping, so we decided against dessert.
The grades:
ATMOSPHERE: A
FOOD: A+
SERVICE: A
VALUE: B (only because the drinks are so expensive.)

Why did you just repeat you other thread?

Because I always post my Yelp reviews here and it's more detailed than my other post.

I hated the atmosphere upstairs. I hate the booth/table setup, and you are right next to other people. I thought it was supposed to be a romantic place to bring my gf for valentines day and intead i heard the two people next to us whole day and what they did.
the food was really good but the dessert was so tiny. Overall, i much prefer other places to eat honestly.

Upstairs didn't bother me the one time I ate up there, but then again, it was for brunch.

Welcome to New Orleans?
This is extremely common style of seating at all kinds of places I've been.
I, too, despise it.
Otherwise, I think their upstairs is pretty.

Don't go to Irene's, then. I felt like I was sitting with the people next to me and don't get up to go anywhere until it's time to leave. You are stuck in your chair unless you get other people to move theirs to let you out. We were up against the fireplace and with the low ceiling there, I felt like I was in a bomb shelter of some sort.

The worst is when the restaurant isn't that full but they still seat you next to other people.. Or seat other people next to you.
At the very least, if it's a line of two tops going down the bench, seat people every other table until you're forced not to.
