Was not a fan of that. Also didn't care for Aykroyd doing his bass blender shtick. Chris Rock had a shite eating grin on his face the whole show.

I think that was the joke.
to have a bad joke go on and on until they get a few laughs. Ill admit I started to laugh at the absurdity.
mike myers does that to perfection. the "Realllllly? Really!" joke in Austin Powers is a good example.

eddie is a smart man.
All of the other guys from his time looked old and stale and not funny.
Eddie just jumps on stage to say hi and people are still clamoring for more of him. waiting for him to do something funny.

I saw a lot of bitching about this...I didn't really have a problem with it. It was her doing basically a tribute to (I assume) one of her favorite cast members and (assumedly) one of her favorite SNL characters/skits.
I get people hating her, but the actual skit she did on Weekend Update wasn't that bad IMO. It was a tribute..simple as that.

All of this. I hated most of the weekend update skit. Of course it may have been because I really wanted to see Norm McDonald in that slot.
The best part of the Californians was the David Spade "buh-bye" bit at the end.
