I just don't like Derrick rose for some reason. Can't put my finger on it

Sucks that he keeps getting injured, though.

Nike cares. The basketball shoe market is a 4 billion dollar a year market and they just buried Adidas. Why do people think the NBA is any different than AAU when it comes to buying players?

I just looked back at this with Kobe. It said if a guy misses more than 41 games, insurance covers 80% of the salary after that point.

Seriously, what in the actual frick are you talking about?

Eta: lsu480 will be doing a webcam soon discussing the Nike sabotage of Adidas conspiracy theory. Here's a sneak peak of him:

Good link, thats some quality info. That makes sense know, because when Amare signed with the Knicks, alot of teams refused to sign him because insurance wouldnt cover his knees. Basically, the teams didnt want to be on the hook for his full salary in the event that he missed the more than half the season.

So this might be Rose' last big contract, barring some Grant Hill-esque rejuvenation/ a move to Phoenix .

Hill was able to re model himself nicely, but I just dont know if Rose has the mental fortitude to do it. We shall see. He was an MVP so that counts for something..right?

“I’m thinking about long term. I’m thinking about after I’m done with basketball. Having graduations to go to, having meetings to go to, I don’t want to be in my meetings all sore or be at my son’s graduation all sore just because of something I did in the past. [I’m] just learning and being smart.”

Perhaps that?

Why anyone put stock into the bulls and assumed rose could play a whole season, is beyond me.

No it was you bringing up fricking Dwight Howard unprovoked like you bring up the Rockets/Rockets related things in almost every damn NBA related thread.

No one cares

at everyone that doesn't see what is going on. Adidas went all in with Rose and gave him $185 million. Nike paid him more than that to sabotage Adidas. Between those 2 and his NBA contract he is going to end up making over $500 million because he had one good season and signed with a company Nike wanted to put out of business.

Poor guy, man. That explosive athleticism took a toll. Seems like a solid dude, too.

Rose was off since the all star break. 3 games and missed 1 practice due to "travel" and another to sit out today (although he did minor drills). Looked terrible last night like something was wrong. I am shocked, yet I was almost expecting this.
