Because if there are idk any. Im not much of a late show watcher, but every time I catch it he's hilarious
I can't imagine more of a homerun in that slot. Ive been a Dave loyalist for years but the tonight show is where its at. Crazy how talented fallon is and universally likeable it seems
Any chance it gets stale over time?

Really the only people I see complain about or don't get a lot of his jokes are in the 50+ crowd.

I do not regularly watch but have seen it a couple of times flipping channels. It seems the times I have seen it he is doing "Thank You" notes. That segment is plane arse stupid.

I tried watching it and didn't think he was all that funny, more awkward really. But different tastes and all that.
eta: not in the 50+ crowd.

You mean other than Jimmy Fallon?

I don't watch any more, but from what I have seen..
Fallon is great when he's doing mashups and other creative stuff on stage with others. He has fun ideas.
He is a bit awkward in the sit down interviews IMO.. This is not his strength.. although I am sure he is getting better at it by now..

My thoughts on Fallon is he's the best at his skits, games, etc. He's a terrible interviewer. His "every guest is his personal crush" shtick gets old to me. Kimmel is the best interviewer on late night.

Not a fan of Fallon in general, never have been. I just don't think he's funny

People can pick little things here and there they don't like but overall he's been a huge hit. He destroys in the ratings.
He's turned The Tonight Show into more of a variety show than a talk show. Some people like it, some don't but it perfectly suits Jimmy's talents and he has become a superstar

Huh so some people generally don't care for him. didnt know
Like I said I dont tune in regularly. I doubt there's any way he can ever top Letterman's eye for musical guests. Its amazing how long Dave's been in front of good music on that show

Jimmy Kimmel is much better, IMO. Fallon is to girly for my tastes.

I used to never watch any of these late night talk shows and for the most part I still don't watch them religiously. I will say that as I flip around I do stop on some of these shows and Fallon has a pretty solid show. I also think Kimmel has a good show and that every time I turn on Conan I usually get stuck on it for a while because his show is pretty good. I really can't figure out why Conan did not stick on NBC or hasn't landed a network gig and is stuck on cable because his show is pretty dang good.
Letterman just stinks anymore. He can't go away fast enough.

His interviews are so awkward that I cannot watch. I enjoy the bits that make it to viral status on Youtube, but those are few and far between. Conan is 1000 times better and more consistently funny.

And that's what it sort of needs to be now. The days of Carson sitting down with a guest are over because these stars have exposure elsewhere. The Tonight Show used to be one of only a handful of ways for people to see celebrities discuss their lives, movies, and such. Jimmy has turned The Tonight Show into an event again. The audience and fans are having fun again just like they did with Johnny. The only downside is that people might not tune in because they know if something is funny, they'll see it on Facebook/Twitter in the morning.
I wasn't a huge Fallon fan when he took over and its not like I watch it all the time, but Fallon blows away Leno/Letterman. You really see how out of touch and bland Leno was. As for Letterman, he just looks old and bitter now.

This is pretty spot on.
Fallon has found his niche in the music/comedy community. For that reason, I find his show entertaining.

I enjoy watching the highlights of the great bits he does the next day, but I don't go out of my way to watch his monologues or interviews.
He seems to be having fun and he and his writing staff put together some terrific skits, but Fallon just doesn't seem to have the comedic timing or quick wit that the great late night hosts do.

I generally don't care for Fallon. He's just too giggly feeling to me, especially in interviews . I will admit however that his skits and games are usually pretty good.
My favorite late night show is Jimmy Kimmel.
