This happened in the largest classification of high school athletics in Tennessee. Both teams felt that losing would be better for their playoff bid - so they both tried to lose.

TSSAA banned both of them instead. Right decision?

In the 3rd qrt I finally called both coaches together when a Smyrna player was about to attempt a shot at the wrong basket (but there was a 10 second violation call before they attempted the shot) on purpose. That is when I called both coaches together and told them we are not going to make a travesty or mockery of the game. WE ARE NOT GOING TO START TRYING TO SHOOT AND SCORE FOR THE OTHER TEAM.

Wouldn't it have been easier to come up with some bullshite reason to have to forfeit?

Granted that gives you're team the loss of course.

Hell no. Losing was a strategy if they want to lose, that's their choice.

How would you feel if Tech football started tanking games, especially after you paid money?

My initial reaction is that nothing is wrong with this. It's no different than forfeiting the game, right?

If that's the case then forfeit. Don't show up and intentionally waste another person's time. It's disrespectful.

Honestly that wouldn't have been a bad strategy to keep the game competitive. Just flip the court and have them try to score for the other team. Then they'd have had normal offense and defense. Just when each scores give the points to the other team. would have been bizarre.

That was painful to watch. Both coaches should be fired.

Sounds like they have some issues with their bracket process. Just like in the nfl with the draft, if you incentivize a team to lose, then you can't blame them for doing it.
