The Voice--Season 8 thread

They really do do these too often. I'm still sort of worn out from the last season. I wish they'd either space them out more, or do fewer shows per week...two (or more) nights of two-hour episodes feels like a chore for this show.
I'll still watch though, at least for now...

Bitchstina saw how much the folks loved Gwen and couldn't stand it so she wedged herself back in.

Saw the ads and I just cringed because I feel like we just finished watching recently. I'm not looking forward to Christina's return either.
I'm watching Idol right now and the crew they picked this year looks to be excellent. I'm already invested and live shows start this week. I'll try to keep up with The Voice, too, but I'll be taping it and watching when I can. There are so many long commercials that it doesn't take all that long to get through them when you can ff.
I was hoping it didn't start until April or later.

I gave up on the show after last spring....I just got burnt out from the frequency of the seasons and the episodes within the season. They are milking the shite out of this thing (can't say that I blame them) and it's dragging it on WAY too long. I thought about jumping back on this season, just to look at Christina...but I can't bring myself to do it.

It would be nice if just a few of them would make it in the big time. I don't think there's ever going to be a high number of success stories from either Voice or Idol, but a few makes it more interesting. I was watching Jennifer Hudson sing on the Oscars last night. She was let go in the Top 5, I believe, on Idol. Still being on the show changed her life and she was some good last night.
Wonder what the country boy is doing since his win last Fall? Anyone following him? I can't even remember his name.

Thats the good thing about the way my wife and I watch. I usually dont watch much of the Fall season. Im sort of disappointed Christina is back, but its not like Gwen or Shakira did such an awesome job that they should have kept her off. I think Pharrell is great and would much rather him over Ursher and CeeLo.

Yup. And I'm going to miss Gwen. I feel like she is just a nice person.

I thought Gwen did a great job. She is obviously qualified, and on top of that, she seemed to genuinely care about the contestants and made it more about them than herself, which is something that Christina is incapable of.

I really enjoyed Gwen. I put her ahead of Shakira, though I like her, too. I don't think she's as good as Gwen, though. She's a little silly sometimes.
I think Gwen picked a little poorly. She was so careful that she turned around late and she lost out on some folks because of that, I believe.
I don't like Christina at all. She interferes with my enjoyment of the show. I'm very disappointed that she was invited back.

I'm not sayin Gwen was bad, I just didn't think she was so excellent that Christina shouldn't have been brought back. I feel that way about pharrell over ursher and Ceelo.

Some people should stop complaining. There have been three fricking terrific performers in the first half hour. And I fricking loathe American Idol (although HC, Jr. is my local homey).
