I took that as they had an actor in mind that they are looking at who happens to be ethnic.

In the OP's linked article, the writer quoted that Jeff guy as saying "Spider-Man is going to be most likely black," Jeff stated. "But there is a chance he could also be Latino. 95% sure not white."

It just sounds like to me that this Jeff guy thinks they just want a minority in the role. Probably black, maybe latino, but not white (at least 95% chance that he won't be white). Nothing in that article makes it sound like Sony has anyone in particular in mind.

As I've said countless times, turning their heroes into minorities is a slap in the face to the minority heroes they've already created.

Most of this team of Avengers is black and all of them are interesting (Blade is in there too)

That was my point earlier.

I just don't get this. I mean I understand wanting to be racially sensitive and have more roles for minorities or whatever....but this isn't a regular movie with regular characters. It's based on a character that is already established, and that character is white. Just like I think it's stupid as hell to have a black Annie. We wouldn't make an MLK movie with a white lead actor, why change previously white roles to be black for no reason?

Are you trolling or just don't know who Miles Morales is?

According to wikipedia, the character was added after the death of Peter Parker, and that he draws inspiration from Barack and Danny Glover. So it was PC shite putting the black character into the book and it will be continued into the movie when he is cast.

Hate away.

And also, spiderman movies, spiderman comics, and comics in general all fricking suck.

When I look at that poster, it does suck, most of those characters are awesome. Falcon has always been a solid B Tier. Black Panther, War Machine. I was a fan of Night Thrasher back in the day.

And Luke Cage is a flat out incredible character honestly. He became tier 1 pretty quickly in the Comics.
