I could get behind them casting Glover as Morales since Glover was basically the inspiration for Morales. That would be a homerun casting decision in my book.
The only problem with using Morales instead of Peter is that the non-"die hard" comic folks would be totally confused as to why Spiderman isn't Peter Parker. I guess they could spend the first part of the movie explaining why Morales has taken up the mantel or something. But it could still be a risky move to not use Peter Parker from a money making standpoint.

I have no problem with Morales being Spiderman. I have no problem with Morales being Blatino. I have no problem with Spiderman being Blatino. I have a problem with Peter Parker being Blatino. Simply because he isnt.

Miles Morales is 1/2 black 1/2 Hispanic. I guess no one cares if they delete the Hispanic part. 
I'm cool with it though.
They have War Machine, Falcon, and eventually will have Black Panther.
What they need to do is bring in more female characters.
Bring in Capt Marvel, Ms. Marvel, Valkyrie, or make Sif a more prominent player.
All they really have right now is Black Widow (no powers) and they are bringing in Scarlet Witch. They need a heavy hitting chick.
The female characters are still in the "damsel in distress" mode.
I'm cool with it though.

I agree with everything in that statement. If they want to bring along a black/latino actor to play Morales, I'm all for it (as a comic reader, I'd be pretty psyched for the change up). If they want to bring along a black/latino to play Peter Parker, then I'm out (don't frick with the icons).
