2016 Quaterback Class

Just recently watched Cole Kelley highlights and I would be extremely ecstatic to have a Qb class of he and Felipe Franks. From Kelley's tape he displays a strong arm making NFL type throws (throwing ropes from the opposite hash mark to sideline on out routes)
He also showed good ball placement making everything catchable for his WR's. Also pin-pointing placement with back shoulder throws and throwing away from coverage in tight situations. He shows good touch on throws when needed to allow for a easier catch and run potential.
Surprisingly he is fleet footed for a 6'7 player showing decent mobility on both desgined runs, roll outs and scrambles.
On the move he still shows good mechanics keeping his up-field shoulder high and not dropping it increasing his accuracy on the move as well as squaring towards the target to deliver a catchable ball.
In the pocket he shows good awareness and natural feel of navigating through traffic sliding up in the pocket or sliding left or right to get better throwing lanes. He doesn't prematurely leave the pocket if his initial read isn't open which shows a level of maturity.
He has a lot of natural tools that every good Qb needs and also some development areas such as hitting check downs when open and attacking the intermediate area of the field more. His footwork is good and shows a good base on most of his throws but at times doesn't properly push off his back foot to finish a throw but jumps into it.
He is in the mold of Qb that Cam Cameron has had sucess with tall strong armed Qb's with the ability to make any throw on the field. Bringing he and Franks to Tigerland would be a homerun hit because of both players high ceilings and natural ability.

I see he has an offer from Arkansas.
Teurlings has been having some good QBs since I was in HS.

Only issue with quarterbacks that tall is their long arms sometimes makes their release a little funky/slow. No doubt the kid probably has a strong arm, but the extra time it takes for him to release while not noticeable at the hs level, would be much more vulnerable at the higher levels (especially on the shorter throws).
I think those issues are at least partly why Stephen rivers never panned out.

His two biggest offers are Arkansas and Oklahoma State and okie state is pushing him hard for a commitment.

Cole Kelly is good and a definite Power 5 level prospect. He's not going to get an offer from LSU though unless it's much later in the process and other options haven't panned out. Not a knock on him, but he's not high on our board. I heard he has a lot of interest in an SEC school besides Arkansas. Anyone know what school that is?

I'm done trying to figure out the QB recruiting, not sure the staff even knows what type of QB they want.

What? Felipe Franks is EXACTLY the QB they want.

Maybe you should go tell them....

Not sure on the school. If I were him though I'd look at Missouri or even TAM. Teams that will let his arm go to work. Maybe UF. Honestly though he can't do much better than Okie St in terms of fit. That offense has got to be fun for a QB to play in. Maybe not the most prestigious school but he would get major stats in that offense if he wins the job.

Steven Rivers looked pretty good high school, similar comparisons, was here with Cam, wasn't too successful if I'm modest, and left.
Maybe he has a different collegiate experience, maybe he doesn't?

I get the feeling Cole will be the 2nd QB in this class if he's got his shite together

Kid can start any where he goes. Why be a 2nd QB in any class?
