The proposed stadium will be in Carson, like 15 miles south of downtown

San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders, rivals on the field, are moving forward together on a plan to build a $1.7-billion NFL stadium in Carson that they will share.

The Chargers and Raiders will continue to seek public subsidies for new stadiums in their home markets, but they are developing a detailed proposal for a privately financed Los Angeles venue in the event they can't get deals done in San Diego and Oakland by the end of this year, according to the teams.

From what I hear, with Oakland unable to get funding for a new stadium, and San Diego struggling almost as bad to get a new stadium, this is very likely to happen. I'm all for it.

If that happens TV will force one of them to switch conferences with either the Seahawks or 49ers

It's amazing how shitty SD stadium is. When I lived there in 09 I had to drive past it every day. It made the dome look like jerry world.

I don't get why they don't really look for somewhere on SD, South OC county line for chargers.

Looks like it would be a 3 hr drive for San Diego fans to drive up for home games, that would be terrible.

So it would be the San Diego Chargers and the L.A. Raiders who both play in Carson, CA?

I hope this doesn't happen. I don't like either team. I'm hoping the Rams come back.

If they don't though, the Chargers and the Raiders are better than what we have now, which is squat.

What makes people think that LA fans will support a team that starts losing the 3rd time around?

Once the new St Louis Stadium effort actually got some traction and momentum I think it was a pretty safe bet the LA team/teams would end up being the one or both of the Raiders and Chargers

Raiders in the NFC would be weird.

Both would be weird.

If San Diego was smart they would a little further north and build a stadium. Claim a bit of both la and sd

I would think the Rams to AFC West and Raiders to NFC West.

NFC West:
Seattle
San Fran
LA Raiders
Arizona

AFC West:
K.C.
St Louis
Denver
LA Chargers

Not a chance in hell, Raiders-Chiefs is one of the biggest rivalries in the NFL and Raiders-Broncos is up there too.

Chargers would be the ones moving to the NFC, which won't happen either.
