Anyone else notice how many speed traps STGPD puts out? Their town has like 100 residents but their PD has 20 cruisers parked at their HQ! I drive through there everyday and am amazed at the money grubbing activities.

Of course not. Speed traps are the sole reason for their existence. The town has nearly zero residential property tax or sales tax base. All they have is the property taxes from a couple local chemical plants and ticket revenue.

They patrol Highway 30 up and down, using instant-on radar trying to catch unsuspecting drivers.

Their entire department is a scam. I speed plenty, and admit it when I'm caught. However, I was given a ticket for a school zone when I was blocks past it. It was a joke. The cop who radar'd me wasn't in court, it was a different cop. He then proceeded to lie and say he was the one. It was completely unbelievable. That city, it's court, and Police are a joke.

Because of the decrease in tax revenues for our state and local governments, police are being tasked with increasing their efforts to bring in traffic ticket revenue. There is also increase activity with the State Police; I have noticed a lot more traps on I10.

I find them fair and honest. I've never been given a ticket on hwy 30 and I drive it a lot

Yes I do. And I remember a friend of mine got drunk and laid down in the middle of Highway 30 and was run over and killed.
