Venison tartare - excellent, not particularly appetizing looking but delicious. The rye crumbs are a very nice offset and notable bite.

Interesting. I'd love to try that.

This is random, but the beef tartare at Peche is hands down the best thing I've ever eaten there.. if you're into tartares.

Baked rigatoni with beef cheeks - excellent, could easily walk in there and snag a glass of wine and one of these and be pretty set.

Oh my god yes. This is so my type of dish.

Also. You're a gin-cocktail drinker like myself.

They did not have the wahoo the night we went and my wife wouldn't get the venison even though she loves tartare.

My cocktails were VERY impressive. I really liked them.

The rigatoni was absolutely excellent. Everything else was just ok. Scallops were way too salty.

They did a good job with the space but it's much more casual than we were expecting.

I should add I had the Methuen Treaty and the Jack Barnes as well. Both were good, but I loved the Treaty. Loved it.

went the weekend before this past one... I had the marinated shrimp and the roasted lamb loin... both very good..

Upstairs is a decent size dining room, but the bar is tiny... more for service, no seating really..

Nice review. I guess I'd ask whether or not it's the kind of place you'd walk, say, 5 or 6 blocks to for lunch during the work week? Or save it for when you just want to hang out to eat and drink?

Beautiful space with fantastic food. When they get humming, watch out.

I found it to be very reminiscent of a bar/cafe in Italy or Spain. Lots of cold salty things, nice ambiance, and bar focused.

They have a "Lagniappe" section on their menu.

Lagland will boycott. . .

I definitely wouldn't call the food fantastic. We really liked one dish. Everything else was ok at best, and that's being a little generous. They need a few weeks to get it together. We will be back eventually.
