Guys who can get double digit sacks every year don't just grow on trees.

It's especially impressive considering he's the only one generating pressure on that defense.

So, I'm wrong? Meh, it's happened plenty of times before.

I think my overarching problem is with paying players like this such inflated contracts. IMO, the only players that should make salaries like this are QB's and JJ Watt. I think that could be why I'm not an NFL GM.

What to make of our D-line I just don't know. Maybe the biggest disappointment on the whole team last year. O-line a close second.

Our interior was awful. Junior was the only consistent threat we had

Need Jenkins healthy and in shape

Cam had a good year in every category except for sacks....If I'm not mistaken his hurries, hits, and pressures were are all on par with 2013

Drew Brees $26,400,000 = Needs to Restructure like Brady did.
Junior Galette $15,450,000 = Not worth the hit
Jimmy Graham $11,000,000 = Worth the hit
Jahri Evans $11,000,000 = Not worth the hit
Jairus Byrd $10,300,000 = Might be worth the hit
Marques Colston $9,700,000 = Not worth the hit
Ben Grubbs $9,600,000 = Not worth the hit
Curtis Lofton $9,250,000 = Not worth the hit
Cameron Jordan $6,969,000 = Worth the hit
Brodrick Bunkley $6,112,500 = Worth the hit
David Hawthorne $6,010,000 = Not worth the hit

That would actually not be much help to the team. Brady's "restructure" just freed up cash by moving the guarantee from skill to injury. I do not believe it actually adjusted the cap hit. The only way to adjust Brees' contract hit would be to give him an extension.

Ok, I just knew Brady made some concessions, didn't know the details.
But Brees needs to realize if he wants a shot at the Super Bowl, He can't do it alone. If your running for your life or rushing throws next season will be just like last season. Something needs to give ...

I think everyone on this board, except for the Falcons fans, completely agree with this. And, I am sure that is step 1 of ML's 20 step offseason process this year. Plus, it would benefit him to have an extension because that would more than likely warrant a nice signing bonus, as well as some a good portion of the contract will probably be guaranteed.

I'm sure Brees knows that. It isn't like we ignored the OL like some teams, we have the highest paid guard tandem in the NFL, one of the higher rated RTs in the league, and a nice up and coming LTs.

Issue is that the 17mil of Guards and Centers we have are not living up to that bill. You fix them, you fix Brees' running around headless.

If we don't get some offensive line help, Brees is going to get beat to death. And I think Ben Grubbs is much more overpaid, and has less value, than Evans. I think our horrible O-line kept Sean from dialing up those 7 steps bombs that we were so used to seeing. Maybe next year.
