Binged the first 8 episodes today, recognizable cast, OZ, Walking Dead, CSI, 24. Good show.

Couldn't stop watching and now I'm done. Don't want to set unrealistic expectations for those who haven't seen it, but simply put, it was a great first season.

I'm almost done as well. This may be a lazy comparison, but it reminds me of True Detective. It isn't quite as dark, but it is a great show thus far IMO.

Watched first two episodes. Pretty good and he reminds me of Dirty Harry.

I'm 4 episodes in and I love it. I read Michael Connelly's book Blood Work and liked it a lot. I was wondering if this season was based off any particular Bosch novel.

City of Bones for the Pilot at least. It is several books into the series.

CS: How did you decide which book to start with?

Connelly: The essential difficulty in adapting the novels was taking a character who was very interior and bringing those hidden characteristics out. This led us to The Concrete Blonde because it involves a story where Bosch is put on trial and testifies about himself under oath. That gave us the construct through which we could reveal much of Harry’s back story – his war time service, the tragedy of his mother’s murder, his growing up in foster homes and youth halls. It all came out very honestly because he was asked about it on the stand. From there we looked for stories that would show his relentless character as well as put him and the community in danger. That led us to City of Bones and Echo Park. We had our season then.

Started this over the weekend. Good stuff. Very good acting, and clever dialogue.
You guys think Titus Welliver will get a best actor nod for this?
He's good in everything but exceptional in this. Also Annie Wersching (Renee Walker from 24) looking good these days.

I'm struggling to not be bored. Just can't get into it.
