Customer service, purchase protection, reward points!, and building my credit score.

All of the stated. Protection being pretty key. Rather be able to dispute a charge and not fork over money until its resolved than to have my bank account drain until its gets resolve.

What they said, points, points, points!

If you can pay your card off every month a cc is a no brainier. I get 2-3 free flights a year from my credit card points. It's awesome.

Mainly rewards. Travel, work expenses, groceries, it all goes on the card for the points. My goal is to never pay for a plane ticket for family vacations.

That's the more accurate statement. I only use it to get cash, I never swipe it. Maybe use it twice a month

You should never ever use a debit card outside your home. Fraud protection for a debit card is awful

Obviously doesn't include when you need it for atm/bank

I got over $600 back in cash last year by using my CC. I have to use my debit card 15 times a month to keep my rewards checking account interest but after that, everything goes on CC.

I have one in my wallet but it still has sticker and has never been activated.

All of this. Plus, using a debit card is dumb. If you get hacked, you lose your money and must wait to get it back. Just treat a credit card like cash. Know how much you have and don't spend more than that

Because I'm not a moron who uses a debit card.

Have fun trying to get your money back when someone takes you debit card number. If they take my Amex no sweat, they will over night me a new card with a new number

Please tell me you know the difference between a debit card and a credit card. They are night and day.

The 1 issue I had with fraud on my debit card was resolved fairly quickly, but I'm working on getting my credit score up so that I can use my credit card on everything. Got a sweet $300 credit limit right now

Debit card fraud protection is fine. However, if a debit card gets compromised they are accessing your bank account. If your credit card gets compromised they are accessing a credit line and if you go to the bank you still have access to your money.

Plus points, points, miles, miles.

When my debit card number got stolen, the $2400 was back in my account within 48hours

That said... I only use CC now.
