I found this out last year and was astounded. It's gotta be in like year 12 by now. Women are stupid.

I thought this show stopped airing 2 years ago or something like that.

People fricking love hospital shows. One day there will be nothing but medical shows on TV. Every sitcom and drama will be set in a hospital.

Bill Simmons and his guests brought it up on a very recent podcast, saying someone like David Chase should take over the show. I couldn't believe it was still on. I watched it back around 2005/06, when I had several women living with me due to Katrina (no sex). I watched it with them and enjoyed it. Kept up with it for about 2 seasons and it started getting REALLY bad. I was shocked when I heard from the Simmons podcast that it was still on.

No kidding. ER- 16 seasons, House- nine seasons, Royal Pains- seven seasons and counting, Nurse Jackie- seven seasons, Nip/Tuck- eight seasons, Scrubs- 11 seasons. I don't get it. I have yet to see a hospital show that I like. It's boring as hell. Why are people fascinated about this stuff?

I wouldn't classify nip/tuck as a hospital show

The Drew Carey show was on as late as 2004. People assumed that they were watching reruns, but ABC was contractually obligated to air the remaining season. They aired the show in odd timeslots and the writers/producers responded by making the show as strange as possible.

I had a roommate that would freak the hell out about this show in 2006 or 2007. It was ridiculous. He was the ultimate friend zone guy.

I enjoyed House but never got into Grey's Anatomy. No clue how good it is but there's just so much on TV and too little time to watch it all.

I watched religiously for a few seasons until they killed off a bunch of major characters within a season or two. It's probably been at least 3-4 years since I've watched.

Young doctors don't just die like that.

Royal Pains- seven seasons and counting
I really need to get a telegraph or carrier pigeon or something for this cave I live in so I can keep up... Is Glee still on?

2) They deal with professional people, enabling yuppie story lines and plots, which women like
3) IMHO, they can believably present women on the same level of competence as men if not above them. If you do that in an action show it usually looks silly -- the badass women shows that do do it are generally camp.

the wife watches grey's all the time...I do too since its usually in our room when we lay down at night...its not a bad show..it did go through a few seasons where it was a bit much but they killed off all those folks cause of contracts and them going and doing bigger and better things like movies etc....it wont last much longer I don't think...the chick that plays Meredith Grey is getting old looking...

Yes and thank God. Every Thursday I get to play video games and watch sports alone while she barricades herself in the bedroom and cries herself to sleep after every episode. I hope it never gets canceled.
