BRAVE Gas for Guns
Hope to see the entire OB out there in force. I hate these stupid arse buybacks that make law enforcement think they are helping.

I'm going to set up a table next to them and offer $350 cash for assault rifles.
Really though how can there be anything negative coming from this?

They form the illusion of "guns getting off the streets."
What criminal will turn in one of his most effective tools for a $50 gas card?

How does it?
Criminal wants a gun, they'll get it...
I know you're a cop, but come on.

It panders to bleeding-heart citizens by creating the illusion of safety.
Do you think a million gun buybacks a year will reduce crime? Isn't that what these are designed to do?
I doubt they even put a paint chip in the crime rate of NBR.
EDIT: Not to mention most of the guns bought back are auctioned off.
So what purpose do they serve? More money to the gov.

Is it possible that the old black guy living on disability might get that old .38 out of his closet and go get some gas money for it to help expenses? Or maybe that old single shot Stevens with tape on the foregrip.
With those gone now when his nephew De'sh'a'un goes looking to steal it, it wont be there.
Im not saying that it puts a dent in crime. But it may stop one.

Likely. I didn't say it stops the flow of guns into the hands of criminals. Just that it could help slow it down some.
I don't understand what yall have against this. Is it the waste of funds?

I'm not saying this is the best way possible to end all crime but it helps. It takes guns out of the hands of people who obviously do not value them or stole them. Those types of people are the same type that won't protect their guns and get them stolen.
I mean y'all act like gangbangers just waltz in Academy and buy guns and then do a drive by on the way home. The hell you think they get those guns?

Per that Link
BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge leaders are joining forces with a convenience store chain in an effort to reduce the number of unsecured guns on the streets.
BRAVE and other agencies are partnering with Circle K for a "Gas for Guns" initiative. The "no questions asked" gun buyback program will offer gas coupons worth $50 to $300 for each qualifying weapon.
The event will be held at Elm Grove Baptist Church on North 38th Street on February 21 from 10 a.m. until noon. Here is a breakdown of what a person can receive:
Less than .38 caliber handgun - $50 gas certificate
.38 caliber or larger handgun - $100 gas certificate
Assault-style rifle - $300 gas certificate
Here is the proper procedure for turning in a gun:
Put the gun in the trunk of the car to take it to the location
If you don't go by car, bring the weapon in a sealed container (bag, box, bookbag, etc.

Yes.
It doesn't necessarily have a negative impact on crime. It just simply has no impact on crime. Waste of time.
