Pros
- integrates very well with iOS and android
- seems to work well with all the apps I've used (pandora, songza, google music, photo/slideshow, plex, netflix, etc.)
- cheap (can be gotten routinely for under $30)
- simple to install and portable (plug and go if you have a hdmi & usb input on your tv)
- screencast is *VERY* fun if you and the SO are feeling frisky and there's a big tv in the bedroom
Cons
- have to have a laptop, tablet or phone handy to control it
- doesnt support amazon products
- limited app support..its definitely not an app-crazy device like wdtv or xbox, etc.
- CEC is cool (turns tv on for you if off when you launch the app on your phone) but that requires the power to be plugged into wall instead of usb which is messier than just having the tv with a power cable only.

I literally just got my Fire Stick yesterday, but I will rate them (and yes, I have all 3):
1) Fire Stick
2) Roku
3) Chromecast
Honestly, I don't think you need the others if you have the Fire Stick (unless there is a particular app you need that Fire Stick doesn't support). Side load TVMC and you can watch damn near anything. The only cool feature the Chromecast has that the others don't is the ability to "cast" a browser session from say a laptop to your TV.
What are you looking to use it for?

TVMC is kodi, which is formerly called XBMC and sometimes still referred to as such. everyone on here refers to kodi as TVMC interchangeably b/c that's the specific version ("build") that everyone is running on the amazon fire right now, the one where a lot of plugins are already install for you.

It's kodi with most add-ons pre-installed

Sideload show box and by a 30 dollar Chromecast. No cable ever needed again.

Fire does if you are one of the 50 people in the world with a Kindle Fire or a Fire Phone from Amazon

Does the Fire have Hbogo?

Chromecast vs Firestick - if I basically only need watch espn, netflix, and youtube, is there a huge difference?
Can any laptop with chrome as browser webcast to Chromecast? This could come in handy as we watch Walking Dead from the AMC Website.

I've heard the Fire will have HBOGo in near future.
I have the chromecast, and it works ok, only issue I've had is buffering when trying to watch something.
