This has Freddy Adu written all over this one. Sigh.

Way too early for “bust” talk. Is he a top class, UCL quality player, probably not. Can he be a valued contributor, I think so.

He's 19.

Where were Zardes, Besler, Dempsey, etc. I can keep going, at 19?

Uhm, yeah there were. Teams like Juve, Inter, Benfica, etc had their eyes on him when he was 14.

Wanting to stash away a player in a youth academy is a tad different than giving a player first-team run.

Freddy Adu is such a convenient and inaccurate label to put on Julian.

Chill the frick out, fellas. He's 19. He's allowed to 'struggle' and play on a U-23 team in Europe.

I wasn't responding to you, even though I clicked respond on your post. I typically just click on the last one I was reading.

Didn't the manager who wanted him get sacked after like four games?

talk about apples to oranges

Adu's issue was playing in the MLS at 14 and stunting his development. At that age he should have been in a euro academy not playing in the MLS.

Green is following the FC Bayern blue print that has been successful over the years

Hi everybody,
Just to make it clear: nobody from HSV has spoken to me at all. I read in the papers that apparently I’m now playing for the U23. HSV took me on on the third day of the season to reinforce the first team. This was and is my aim, and is the reason why I transferred. I’m a licensed player, I haven’t done anything wrong and I give all I’ve got in the training sessions. I always want to do my best to keep us in the league. If they let me play, I’ll shoot goals.

Due to my medical background I can't help but giggle at HSV, which is short for herpes simplex virus.

Everybody calm down. Hamburg has issued a statement saying Green hasn't been demoted: LINK

The club says the 19-year-old US international, who is spending the season on loan from Bayern Munich, could be handed some HSV II starts to raise his match fitness. He's not moving to the Under-23 team," HSV press officer Lars Wegener told MLSsoccer.com on Wednesday. "Our sport director said that maybe he could play for the U-23s a couple times when he is not in the first-team squad. The reason is to get him some matches and more practice. He is still with the first team in training."

Again, I wasn't being serious. I'm probably one of Julian's biggest fans on this board.
